We don’t hang much on our walls, but the items we display all come with a story. This 48-star flag hails from hometown of Chisholm, Minnesota. It was found along with many others stored in a building his cousin purchased which had been used as excess storage space by the city. They had been used for Flag Day, Fourth of July, and Veterans Day up and down Main Street (Lake Street) for decades until Hawaii and Alaska became states and new 50-star flags replaced them. The majority of them had rotted due to water damage or had been chewed through by mice over the decades. All but a few survived and he was able to keep one of them. We are proud to have it hanging in our humble little whiskey bar.
