Another jam-packed release coming up Friday! Two returning favorites (Pillowfort Max and Rings of Ice) and two new ones: Golden Door (American Wheat) and North to the Sea (Coffee Alt)!

Pillowfort Max (9.4% TIPA) is the most Pillowfort beer we brew! It ups the creamy oats and the citrusy Citra and Azacca! This batch features concentrated Citra Cryo and Azacca Lupomax!

Rings of Ice (5.7% West Coast Pils) is Shore dry hopped with Citra and Citra Cryo at the same rate as Rings of Light! It's light and crisp, but with a fun melon-herbal aroma!

North to the Sea (5.8% Coffee Altbier) is a collaboration with our friend, homebrewer, and coffee-roaster extraordinary Alex Howe! He roasted beautifully plum-y Peruvian coffee on is "small" home roaster. The base beer is based on one of his homebrews, featuring a range of German malts for a bready-richness, but a dry-bitter finish. A coffee beer for the summer!

Golden Door (5% American Wheat) is our celebration of this uniquely American style borrowing from German, Belgian, and English brewing traditions! Ours features American Cascade, along with light spicing with Indian Coriander, Orange Zest, and Chamomile. We're all in favor of America (and beer) as a melting pot. As we approach the sesquicentennial we wanted to back that up by donating a portion of sales to the Maryland Immigrant Rights Coalition!

Today: New Rye-Whiskey-Barrel-Aged Coffee Roastwine on tap and in bottles! B.R.A.C. (Barrel. Roastwine. Amburana. Coffee)! Two of our favorite dark beers from 2025 were A Mortal Age and BSCCC, this is essentially a mash-up of those two concept. We borrowed the barleywine-stout blend, amburana wood, and Rye Whiskey barrels from A Mortal Age, and the intense addition of Vigilante Coffee Co. beans from BSCC!

We usually infuse beers with pieces of amburana wood (either spirals or staves), but for this one we aged the base for Megaloceros in barrels constructed from amburana! The toasty-cinnamon-buttery was so intense, that we then double-barrel aged that portion in a rye whiskey barrel for a year before blending with a stout aged 12 months in rye and a barleywine aged 22 months! For the coffee we selected Capim Seco, which is from Brazil (just like the amburana)... made the BRA part of the name work as well!

Fresh variant on tap and in crowlers today: Costa! It's an Italian Pilsner dry hopped with Audacia! This new variety from Indie Hops was bred from both traditional spicy German (Hallertau Hersbrucker) and modern citrusy American (Strata)! Costa is Italian for "Shore" so you can probably guess what the base beer is!

Italian Pilsner is the forerunner of West Coast Pils. Beers like Birrificio Italiano Tipopils added light dry hopping to boost the hop aroma compared to German and Czech Pilsners. This one is in that tradition with a fresh lemon-herbal pop, but not the intense hop aroma of our beers like Rings of Ice (fresh batch of that next week)!

We released six new beers over the weekend, time to play catch-up! Cheater Hops #33 features two of our favorite American hops (Citra and Strata) along with an American hop (Cascade) grown in New Zealand! Just like wine grapes, the influence of growing conditions (terroir) is important to hops. US Cascade tends to be classic orange-grapefruit citrus, but with the unique soil and climate of New Zealand it turns lime and even a little tropical. It's a fun foil for the more brash melon and grapefruit of the American hops!

We've also got fresh batches of The Dragon (Rye DIPA), Creamsicle Juicius (Orange-Vanilla "Milkshake" IPA), SIMCOE Mini (Pale Ale), and Old Line Dragon (Spruce IPA)!

New barrel-aged draft/bottle release Friday: B.R.A.C. (Barrel. Roastwine. Amburana. Coffee.)! It's a blend of single and double-barrel aged stouts and barleywines in Rye Whiskey and Amburana barrels!

We double-barreled some Megaloceros in a Brazilian Amburana barrel followed by a Willett Rye Whiskey barrel... only for it to not fit into the final blend! Easy solution - we blended it with 24 Hour Stout aged in a Willett Rye barrel for 12 months and a Barleywine in a 7-year Sagamore Spirit Rye barrel for 22 months! Then we added 25 lbs of Brazilian coffee from Vigilante Coffee Co. to ~100 gallons of beer (the same rate as BSCCC)! it's sticky, rounded, with notes of cinnamon, pepper, and loads of fresh cold brew! If you liked Threat Level Amburana, you'll love B.R.A.C.!

Last year Che and Lisa from Black Locust hooked us up with some Colorado Blue Spruce grown at Fair Chance Farm for a variant (Spruce Juice). It was so good that we wanted to turn it into a big batch, Old Line Dragon! We met up at Fair Chance a few weeks ago to help them trim their young Christmas trees. We took back 12 pounds of the new-growth spruce tips! When the growth is that young the aroma is less "pine" and more citrus and almost tropical! It's always fun using local ingredients, not to mention having an excuse for a small adventure with friends!

Creamsicle Juicius - 7.2% "Milkshake" IPA with Orange Juice, Orange Dole Whip, and Vanilla Beans. Creamy, juicy, sweet! No lactose... ever!

Old Line Dragon - 7.4% IPA in Collaboration with Black Locust Hops Farm Brewery (they'll have it on at their place next week) with Maryland-Grown Blue Spruce from Fair Chance Christmas Tree Farm (Upperco, MD). A blend of piney hops and hoppy pine!

SIMCOE Mini - 5.6% Pale Ale with Simcoe: Pellets, Cryo, YCH803 (Hop Oil), and Quantum. It might just be the hoppiest pale ale we've ever brewed!
