Our Story

Colts Neck Stillhouse, a local craft distillery using locally sourced grains, making Bourbon and Rye Whiskey's as well as American Gin, Rum and Vodka. We are the first distillery in the area since the first distillery in the USA - Laird's. Come for a tour and learn our process and local distilling history. Stay for cocktails in our tasting room or sit and relax on our patio overlooking the historic barn and Delicious Orchards gardens.

Our founder is taking what he has learned from the television and marketing game on Madison Avenue and with enormous passion, creating his own products and brand. But most importantly tying his brand vision to a truly unique experience at the distillery. His vision meant that the brand needed a place of birth and a place to come see it, learn it, taste it and feel it. This place is 'The Colts Neck StillHouse'. Located in the bucolic rural equestrian and farm town of Colts Neck and in the shadow of the very first distillery in The United States - Lairds - where George Washington actually slept and traded his spirits with Laird's. George Washington was a distiller too. We have built one of the East Coast's premiere craft distilleries. The idea for our MuckleyEye brand of spirits goes back to our founder's childhood. His grandfather, George Sr., would bellow out in deep hearty tones the phrase "Holy MuckleyEye!" whenever something truly amazed him or gave him great pride or joy. This phrase essentially translated to a great sense of family pride that stuck with him his entire life - so much so that it forms the basis his brand. MuckleyEye Spirits are distilled with 'white knuckle enthusiasm, exuberant pride and the spirit of proclamation. We serve craft ginger beer poured from an old soda jerk fountain. If you want to taste the traditional way ginger beer was made many years ago, visit us. You can have a Gin Martini from barrel-aged gin along with various other cocktails. Colts Neck StillHouse is excellent in action when it comes to quality distilled spirits. Have a Negroni, an Old Fashion, or other spirit at our place.
