Dear friends and family,
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dan Prellberg Sr., who left us peacefully yesterday, Wednesday, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
Dan had been in the ICU since last Monday night after an infection spread to his heart. He fought with everything he had for over a week while on life support. After many difficult days, his sons made the heartbreaking decision to let him go peacefully, allowing him to reunite with the love of his life, Lori.
While our hearts ache with his loss, we find comfort in knowing that Dan is no longer in pain, no longer suffering, and is finally at peace.
Anyone who knew Dan knew there would never be another quite like him. He was authentic in every sense of the word, unapologetically himself, fiercely loyal, deeply loving, and unforgettable. He had a way of making people laugh, speaking his mind, and leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was one of a kind, and his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.
In true Dan fashion, he took his final journey wearing his beloved Bears hat, surrounded by the music that helped tell the story of his lifeโThe Who, Jethro Tull, The Beatles, Meat Loaf, and of course, his all-time favorite, Led Zeppelin.
Today we mourn a father, grandfather, family member, and friend. But more than that, we celebrate a life lived on his own terms, a life filled with love, laughter, music, and memories that will live on in all of us.
Rest easy, Dan. Give Lori a hug for us. You will be missed beyond words, loved beyond measure, and remembered always.
There is a meal train set up for the Family, and we'd love for our Overtime Family to be a part of it. Here is a link to sign up to get a meal delivered.
