Join DRA's Food & Land Committee on Monday, Oct. 27 at 6 pm MT/7 pm CT for an engaging evening of information and discussion on the South Dakota Farm Link Program - a robust state-wide matchmaking service that connects land seekers and land sellers to support successful land transitions. 🚜

A growing concern for producers across the country is that about 1/3 or 300 million acres of farmland will be changing hands in the next two decades with a large portion of producers nearing retirement age. A variety of pressures, including high land prices, development and corporate land consolidation are a major threat to prosperous, independent family farming and ranching for future generations.
South Dakota is no exception to these pressures, having lost an average of four family farms per week in the last three decades, according to the Ag Census.

Hello Gardening Friends! I would like to invite all of you to join me and participate in the "Garden Grange Display" competition at this weekend's Sturgis Fall Festival! It is free to participate and your entry may win a prize based on the vote of judges. I look forward to creating my own grange display featuring all of the fun things in our garden this year and I would love to see a bunch of your displays as well! Here is the info from the Entry Form and I have also provided a link to the form itself.
"Open to all gardeners! Select up to 10 of your best garden produce, fruits, berries, grains, or flowers and arrange it in your 2’x3’ (approx.) assigned tabletop display area (small items such as berries, grains, etc may be bunched and displayed as a single “item”). Judges will evaluate your goods and judge based on size, quality, appearance, and variety of items in your display. The top winner will receive a trophy! Displays must be ready by 2PM and open for public and judge viewing until 4PM. Awards will be announced after 4PM."
The entry form says "Hot Pepper Form", but it also has the entry info for the Garden Grange Display. You can submit your form when you set up your display on Saturday.
