Wondering what to do this Labor Day weekend because the weather continues to keep us guessing?
We have a suggestion:
Come hang out at Daft.

Show up, grab a beer, get some food, and let Mother Nature do whatever thing she has planned.

Here’s what’s happening in the kitchen:
Gyro Sandwich
Beef and lamb strips on warm pita bread topped with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, feta and tzatziki.

Spicy Texas Chili
Brisket, chicken, bacon, beef and tomatoes topped with cheddar cheese and green onions.

Raspberry Salad
Mixed greens, candied pecans, goat cheese and fresh raspberries with our house-made raspberry vinaigrette.

So whether it’s sunny, rainy, chilly, warm, or somehow all of those things before noon…Daft is a pretty solid Labor Day weekend plan. Bring the fam, bring a board game. Come eat. Drink. Hang out.

What’s everyone up to this week? 👀
The fair is in town, the last couple weeks of summer break are officially here, and we’re heading into the final stretch before Labor Day weekend.

Sounds like a good time for a beer and some dinner to us!

Here’s what we’re serving up this week:

Bacon Jam Grilled Cheese
Habanero bacon jam + thick-cut bacon + provolone, cheddar & Monterey Jack on sourdough.

Yellow Curry Soup
Chicken, veggies & garbanzo beans over jasmine rice with cilantro.

Blue Cheese Salad
Mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, almonds, blue cheese crumbles & house-made blue cheese dressing.

It’s a great week to make your way to Daft.

We’ve got a new round of weekly specials out today, live music tomorrow night, and a reason to get out Saturday evening.

THIS WEEK’S SPECIALS

Pineapple Pork Sandwich
Slow-cooked pork on a Hawaiian sweet bun with pineapple cabbage slaw, candied pineapple, kale, provolone and pineapple habanero mayo. Sweet, savory, a little heat — and very much worth getting your hands messy for.

Boya (Michigan-Style) Soup
A little bit of everything in one bowl: kidney beans, carrots, celery, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, brisket, pork and ground beef, finished with green onions.

Blue Cheese Salad
Mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, almonds, blue cheese crumbles and our house-made blue cheese dressing.

THURSDAY | LIVE MUSIC
Burning Embers will be playing at Daft from 5–8pm. Bring a camp chair and some dancin’ shoes, dance floor always fills up with these guys!

SATURDAY | ALES FOR THE TRAILS
We’ll be pouring a few of our beers at Ales for the Trails from 3–8pm, with all proceeds benefiting the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation. Good beer, good people and a good cause!

We don’t do music at Daft too often, but when we do it is so much fun for everyone!
Next Thursday August 13th, burning.embers.band from 5-8pm here at Daft.

We’ll have normal operations going, bring those dancin’ shoes and a camp chair if you’d like!

There are weeks when posting about food feels a little different.

We’re excited to be serving this week’s Cuban Sandwich, Beer Cheese Soup, and Garbanzo Bean Salad, but we also know many of our neighbors in Spokane are dealing with far bigger things right now.

To everyone affected by the fires, especially those who have been displaced, we’re thinking of you. We hope you know your North Idaho neighbors are holding you close and deeply appreciate everyone working tirelessly to keep people safe.

If you’re looking for a good meal and a place to take a breather, we’d love to have you. ❤️
