The Titanic. Our most famous cocktail. And yes, that’s a Ch*****ne sorbet iceberg.
The story starts back in 2002, when Stefan Trummer was behind the bar at Citarella in New York City, next door to Radio City Music Hall.
Always looking for inspiration in the pastry kitchen, Stefan turned Ch*****ne sorbet into the “iceberg” that became the signature of this cocktail.
He didn’t love naming his creations, so he let the NBC team upstairs take care of that. Kurt Decker, a cameraman on the Conan O’Brien Show, suggested Titanic.
And the name stuck.
Ten years ago, Restaurant Hospitality Magazine named it the Best Cocktail in America. But we’ve been pouring Titanics since we opened Trummer’s in 2008.
It’s still our most popular cocktail—and you can get one at Trummer’s Restaurant in Clifton or Trummer’s Coffee & W**e Bar in Gainesville.
If you’ve never had one, what are you waiting for?
Open for brunch starting at 11am. Start your Sunday with a Titanic. 🍸
