Collaborations are the way!... Of course Detroit Opera is a very larger institution, but the spirit and the areas of the collaborations are the same as with The Cleveland Opera and Cleveland Ballet Theatre: they primarily address the media, the educational component, and the artistic programming. Interesting. The only difference being that neither The Cleveland Opera nor Cleveland Ballet Theatre have a deficit. Both of our institutions are in good financial standing and our move is proactive rather than retrospective.
Over a year ago, the Detroit Opera House faced financial struggles, which led to show cancellations. Now, they’ve made significant changes to navigate more than a million dollars previously lost in grant funding.
