The tavern at the corner of Lee and Silsby has held a special place in the hearts of Cleveland Heights residents for so may years, and it's difficult to recall a time without it. For nearly 25 years, until his untimely passing in 2014, "JB" welcomed neighbors and community members into his establishment as if they were family. Christ Armington was a key figure during those golden years by working

alongside JB for more than a decade. In fact, many assumed that Armington would one day purchase the business from his mentor. When that opportunity did not immediately present itself, Armington ventured out on his own and bought the "second-best bar on Lee Road," the Tavern Company. Over the past eight years, Cleveland Heights residents have gotten to know and love the operation style that Chris Armington has adopted. He, along with head chef Jamie Wynbrandt, have elevated the reputation of "Tavco" by offering great food, service and value with their "all-are-welcome" attitude. Armington preserved the essential character and personality of the decades-old tavern while simultaneously improving each one of its facets. When the opportunity to purchase Brennan's Colony finally arrived, the Shaker Heights native jumped at the chance. To Armington, this transition felt like "going back home." Although the name of the restaurant might have changed, the initial values and key figures have not. Friends of Armington know that he will honor JB's legacy in the best way possible: by treating his loyal customers with the very same care, attention and passion that he and his predecessor have done for ages. He and his team look forward to serving friends both new and old. Thanks for visiting the Tavern Company in its new home.
