One thing leads to another…

I came to Cleburne for a specific reason: to learn how to promote concerts.

I had a theory: if I could master concert promotion, I could control my own work as a musician.

My intentions weren’t to fix Cleburne’s dilapidated neighborhood, enlighten the city with culture, provide over 100 jobs to locals, beautify the cityscape, take a crash course in business, or discover a better place to live.

Well, something unexpected happened on my way to the forum.

I accidentally bought a sign company in downtown Cleburne. You could say I inadvertently acquired a building. My music took a backseat as I delved into business. My creative musical outlet led me to start the Songbird. My need to attract people prompted me to learn about marketing. My desire to create value in my property resulted in ten buildings and a downtown renovation. My need to learn concert promotion led to the formation of a cultural arts community. My desire to promote my neighborhood led me to establish an arts festival. My need to enhance my marketing led me to purchase several cameras. With these cameras, I launched a podcast. Now that I’m a podcaster, I’m learning how to tell better stories. Better stories with better equipment and a wider reach led me to start a media company.

I suppose you could say… one thing truly does lead to another!

I hope you’ll join me for the Songbird Summer Season of Sound, as we present our musical retrospective tribute. With your support, we will help spread the word that Cleburne is like no other town in Texas!
