I am reaching out to see if there is anyone who is looking for a part time cooking position with us, at least through the summer to the end of September.
We get so busy, that it's hard for me to keep up all of the maintenance, events, etc plus work almost all of the cooking shifts and coming in early to do prep.
I am open to being flexible with shifts, either week nights, or weekends, for sure Saturday shifts are needed, any combination is negotiable.
Preferably, the person(s) would have at least some experience in a commercial kitchen, it doesn't have to be recent, but knowing the basics of how a kitchen runs, how to measure and read recipes, and understanding the importance of timing and the strain of a busy shift would be extremely helpful.
Contrary to popular belief, this kitchen is not difficult to work in. We do alot of prep, to make the busy times easier.
Being able to multitask and get along with the other employees is really important. No sh*tty attitudes! We work hard to find solutions to problems, not just complain about them. Working the entire shift (most starting at 2:30), being able to physically stand for long periods of time, and sweep/mop at the end of the shift are non-negotiable points. We've got to be able to count on you to show up and do a good job.
This position would be straight pay (no tips), and the amount will depend on experience, but we are very competitive in pay, usually we run on the high side of our competitors.
Training takes from 6-8 shifts and must be completed within a 2-3 week period. Some people learn faster...
I am NOT looking for someone to mow the lawn or come in early to do prep, this is specifically for cooking during open hours for our regular shifts, so please don't message me if you are not interested in the cooking position. My knees, back, hands, and sanity will be forever grateful to you for your help with this :)
