Music on the Square was established in 2015 to enhance the beautiful area on the Downtown Square of Clarksville, Arkansas, USA and encourage and remind locals and visitors alike of the great heritage of small town Arkansas and revitalize Friday evenings once per month with great local and national live music and entertainment. The event occurs the third Friday of Every Month and is affiliated with
Downtown Development of Clarksville and The Clarksville-Johnson County Chamber of Commerce. The event is FREE to the public but Music on the Square and the City of Clarksville and our county and local area values the arts. We believe that artists should be well compensated and we help with this via Honor Cover. On our visitor's honor, they are encouraged to support the artists who appear each month with a tiny donation. Artists who appear are promoted on our local radio station KXIO 106.9 FM and are offered interview opportunities as well as the opportunity to sell merchandise on site during the show with merch. sales assistance provided by the Music on the Square team. The Stage is provided by Johnson County Judge Herman Houston and supported by the Clarksville Mayors' office, the Clarksville Police Department, The Johnson County Sheriffs' office and all local officials. The Stage is the front steps of the historic Johnson County Court House and artists are elevated above the audience who can enjoy lawn seating, bring their own chairs, and are just steps away from the great downtown restaurants and gift shops of Clarksville.
