ABOUT CLASH@EVENTS
The best clash of live original music variety... "A brilliant eclectic night of music!" A homegrown event ran by musicians for musicians and music fans. Clash@Events is strictly a non-profit promotion idea to help expand the original music scene in Mansfield, OH, but now based in Cincinnati. We support the talented bands in the local area that perform original music. Our events
are often inspired by larger music festivals such as South By Southwest, ACL Music fest, and Coachella, where many genres of high caliber bands are put on the same stage. Clash@Events breaks the traditional mold of club events of having a headlining band with opening bands in the same genre, but instead features higher caliber bands in multiple genres playing the same night. Clash@Events was originally created to support the local “original” music scene in Mansfield, OH that was highly overlooked by other venues. INFORMATION FOR BANDS TO KNOW
Currently, band compensations are generated from a predetermined budget set by the venue. The total compensation is split between the bands and the event photographer. In addition to the compensation, all bands more than likely will receive drink deals. Digital photographs will be available from the event can be used for their own online promotions and press kits. Merchandise sales is also encouraged and bands of course keep all profits. Event photos, provided by Pic By Paris, are typically posted within two to four weeks after the show. BOOKING CRITERIA
Genres: Original music of Alternative, Indie, Rock, Punk, Alternative Pop, Electronica, and Experimental. To allow us to promote the show properly, bands must have an actual Facebook band page (not an individual page). Also, bands must have recorded music available to play online, and videos are even better. STIPULATIONS:
To play at any Clash@Event, besides playing original music, all bands must agree to the following:
1. Promotion by your band for the show is required… i.e… Inviting friends on facebook to the facebook event page (the most important, this is extremely effective for turnouts!), posting on your band and personal pages that the event is upcoming during the week and the day of the show, band website postings, word of mouth, pass out flyers, any other technique of getting the word out. All these help extremely!
2. On all age events, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
3. Currently, band compensations are generated from a predetermined budget set by the venue. Generally, traveling bands are compensated more. This is the only compensation bands will receive. Compensation is distributed at the end of the night.
4. Generally, band compensations are not high, but you will also get great photos taken and edited by professional photographer Pics By Paris. These pictures can be used for your promo photos, website and Facebook promotions. Any other use must be discussed with Pics By Paris first. [email protected] you can also discuss with Paris the possibility of filming the show too. Bringing your own photographer should be coordinated with Paris beforehand... he spends a lot time setting up the lighting for photography and sometimes filming, any flash photography can mess up his efforts. If you are interested in hiring Paris to film your set , let me or Paris know in advance and he can work out the arrangements with you. It is our firm belief, that to expand the music scene in Mansfield, the events need to be documented to show people what is going on and what they are missing... ultimately expanding the turnouts at future original music shows in Mansfield (not just ours). This helps you, us, the music scene, and fans of original music in Mansfield.
5. I like the bands to load in around an hour before the show start time listed on the event, so I can get things organized to run smoothly during the show and so bands are not loading in while other bands are playing, and I can sound check the first band. Also, supporting other bands doing original music is important to me. Sometimes turnouts are not as good at the beginning of the night, so its nice for bands to show other bands some love.
6. Any special requirements for hooking up the band’s sound must be discussed with me in advance. Sometimes I am using my own equipment to run the event, so we are sometimes limited to the live audio equipment I have. If you discuss a special need in advance, we may be able to come up with a solution.
8. In small to medium sized venues, when amps are too loud it will drown out the vocals in the room and its generally unpleasant to everyone listening, so be wise with your amp levels. Keep your amp at a reasonable level, I can mic amps and mix through the monitors to give you more stage volume. This allows for audience members to hear vocals clearly.
9. Do not throw the microphones and do anything purposely that could potentially damage any of my or the venues equipment. If throwing microphones, or microphone tricks such as swinging the mic on the chord is part of your show, bring your own microphone and chord. We will gladly hook yours up into the house system.
10. Merch sales are allowed, you can either use tables at the venue or bring your own table.
11. Spread the word about Clash@Events . I run these shows for the love of the original local music scene and I am not in it for any profit at this point in my endeavor. I am doing this to help the bands and musicians, so helping me spread the word about the event in general would help me, you and the local music scene tremendously!
