Feel like going to New York or Europe for the Evening? Come on down to Schwartz's Point, located in a lovely little historic building, at the 5-way intersection of Vine, McMicken, and Findlay, in OTR. You will usually find great jazz, but on occasion, you might be treated to an inspiring, live classical group or, perhaps something altogether different -- some other creation spawned from and deeply influenced by jazz. There is always a cover charge at The Point, usually a modest $5, occasionally higher to accommodate special shows. Ours is an intimate concert space. This money goes to the musicians and is an important part of supporting our local, and visiting talent - keeping the Queen City hoppin' with creativity and musical innovation. We now take credit cards, but people who pay with cash are still extra hip. Due to our cozy setting, there is a $5 drink and/or food minimum, per person. Schwartz's Point offers one of the most unique evenings out one can have in Cincinnati-or anywhere. It's no wonder that Katy Crossen listed it as one of her "hidden gems" of Cincinnati. The building itself is a historical curiosity, built in the 1860s to fit exactly into the acute-triangle plot of land created by the intersection of Vine and McMicken. Schwartz's Point contains no right angles, which Founder, Ed Moss, said makes the inside acoustics perfect for live jazz.
