Friday nights wine line up. Great opportunity to learn about wines that are not mainstream but very tasty. That’s the beauty of a “wine tasting” trying new wines without putting a large amount of money to try them. If you bought the four wines it would cost you close to $75 but this tasting is the four wines for $20. No reservation needed just show up, tasting goes from 5-8pm.
Since it’s going to be chilly I’m going to run an “UGLY SWEATER” contest the winner will win a bottle of the featured wines, your choice.
On Sunday for the PIG we will open at 6:30am to cheer on the runners we will be making PIG CHEER, think Mimosa, Prosecco, Negroni and other sparkling wine drinks. Stop by Friday or Sunday.

One week away. Tobin James Tasting is next Friday the 17th. The tasting does not require a reservation/ticket it’s a casual tasting featuring 5 of his wines. Tasting starts at 5 runs until 8 cost is $25 per person. My regular wine bar wines are available if you don’t want to do the tasting. It’s a great opportunity to meet one of the pioneers of the Paso Robles wine industry and have him fill you in how it’s evolution from just a handle full of wineries to one of the worlds greatest grape growing areas.

Mark your calendars April 17th 5-8pm TOBIN JAMES Tasting here at Annata. Meet and greet with Tobin James owner/wine maker at Tobin James Winery Paso Robles CA. Toby will answer your questions about his wines and the wines of Paso Robles. Cost is $25pp and we will be pouring at least 5 of his wines.
Some history on Tobin James: he grew up here in Cincinnati in the Hyde Park area, went to Summit Country Day School for grade school and Purcell for high school. He is the 4th child of 9, 6 boys and 3 girls. He went out to Paso back in “85” and fell in love with the area and never came back. He started out there as a cellar rat and worked his way up to a wine maker and then started Tobin James and the rest is history.
Stop in between 5-8 on the 17th and meet Toby and taste his awesome wines.

Starting to look like a wine bar. Tomorrow is our soft opening for the wine bar portion of the store. We will be serving up some value oriented or staff favs to start and the wines will mature from this point on.
Wine tastings are in the works and I’ll be doing some Friday night distrusted tasting focusing on one winery/brand or a potpourri of wines.
The patio won’t be in use for another week or two, power washing and staining/sealing needs to happen and once Hyde Park Painting and Carpentry is finished we’ll open it.
I’m also looking for a person or two that wants to work the wine bar, knowledge is great but not necessary, e-mail to [email protected]
Hours are
11-7 Tuesday
11-9 Wed-Friday
11-6 Saturday
Closed Sunday & Monday
Hope to see you soon

Wednesday 25th is a re-opening of the wine bar side of Annata.
What happened? Last January I had a new knee put in and being the Macho Man I thought I would be back@in a couple of weeks well that didn’t happen . During my rehab time I decided to try and rent the space and well that didn’t happen until just a few weeks ago when SoulRage Tatoo Studio came to me and rented the wine store space allowing me to combine the wine store and wine bar into one space. The picture is the new space.
What’s going to be different with the new space?
The wine store will just be run out of the wine bar area so seating has shrunk a little and food options will be a lot more limited because I don’t have a kitchen facility to work with so all food purchased here will be prepackaged to enjoy here with a glass/bottle of wine or taken to enjoy somewhere else. If you want to bring food please do. The wine list will start out with 13 wines by the glass and may grow, have to see how things mature. Any bottle in the shop can be enjoyed here for a very modest $5 corkage fee.
Hours for the store
Tuesday-Saturday 11am
Wine bar
Weds-Friday 4pm-9pm
I’m going to eventually open the wine bar on Saturday from noon-5 but not be open for evening service. The atmosphere will be casual a place to meet up and start the evening. More info soon on wine tastings.
See you on Wednesday the 25th
