Chimney Rock Smokehouse owner and Chimney Rock volunteer firefighter Nick Sottile completed this year’s 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Chimney Rock State Park in full turnout gear.

Each step was taken in remembrance of the firefighters and first responders who climbed toward danger on September 11, 2001, and in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

We hope you can join us today as proceeds will be donated the to CRVFD. First Responders can enjoy a complimentary pulled pork or chicken sandwich.

9/11 DAY OF REMEMBRANCE

This Friday, we invite you to join us at Chimney Rock Smokehouse as we remember those we lost, honor those who answered the call, and support the first responders who continue to serve our community.

🚒 First Responders Eat on Us
All first responders will receive a complimentary pulled pork or pulled chicken sandwich and side as our small way of saying thank you for your service.

🚒 Chimney Rock Volunteer Fire Department | 4 PM
The crew and trucks will be at the Smokehouse. Bring the family, meet our local firefighters, check out the trucks, and grab some great photos!

🎸 Live Music with Rod Sphere | 5–8 PM

🥾 Fill the Boot Fundraiser
We’ll be raising money throughout the evening for the Chimney Rock VFD, and a portion of our total sales for the day will also be donated directly to the department.

Come eat some BBQ, enjoy the music, support our local firefighters, and spend the evening with the community.

We remember. We honor. We support. Never Forget.

Today is a bittersweet day for our Smokehouse family as we say “see you later” to one of our own.

As he prepares to deploy with the United States Air Force, we couldn’t let him leave without taking a moment to tell him just how proud we are of him.

He’s been so much more than an employee. He’s been a dependable teammate, a friend, and an important part of the family we’ve built here. We’re going to miss having him around more than he probably realizes, but we’re incredibly proud of the commitment he’s making and the service he continues to give to our country.

We don’t know exactly how long he’ll be gone, but we do know there will always be a place waiting for him here at the Smokehouse when he comes home.

Until then, stay safe, take care of yourself, and know that you have an entire crew back home cheering you on.

This isn’t goodbye. It’s just “see you when you get back.”

Aim High, safe travels, and Godspeed. 🇺🇸✈️
