Well, well, well! No good deed goes unpunished, right? It's like the universe has a punch card for kindness, and I just hit my limit!
Let me explain what's been going on in my life latelyâno, I'm not fishing for compliments. Just giving you the backstory on my current chaos. (And sorry, Tara Uhrig, Iâm busy building that damn clock instead of just telling you the time. If you know, you know!)
A few months back, my parentsâwho are both retired and apparently trying to outsmart their HVAC systemâhad a little HVAC drama. It all kicked off with the central air unit (definitely NOT a heat pump, mind you). After a brief romance with functionality, it ghosted us, leaving them with a furnace older than most relationships. So, my siblings and I decided to swoop in like the knights of the round table and replace it for them. They didnât even ask! We were just feeling generous and thought, "Why not?"
Fast forward to this week: my momâbless her stubborn heart (yes, I have two moms, one still hanging around and one watching from above)âdecided she was paying us back. We all shouted âNo way!â like a family chorus. But guess what? She plopped cash in our hands like it was an Olympic sport, and we lost.
And then, the universe said, âChallenge accepted!â Within 24 hours of her repayment, my life turned into a sitcom episode:
Yesterday, between 4 PM and 7 PM, my pool filter decided it was time for a dramatic exit, spewing water all over my yard like it was auditioning for a role in a water park. Sure, the grass is thrilled, but now Iâm left with the delightful task of buying a new filter, transferring sand, and doing a whole pool resurrection. Huge thanks to Gleich Enterprise LLC (hey, Jason Gleich!) for bailing me out, even though youâre about to dive into your own wedding chaos!
This morning, my brand-spanking-new Keurigâless than two months oldâdecided to have an existential crisis and mimic an Insta-Pot. Itâs dead, and itâs definitely on a coffee break that I didnât authorize!
They say things come in threes, and Iâm over here hoping thatâs just a myth because I canât handle more bad luck!
I might need therapy after this wild ride, and I've got a friend (who shall remain nameless, ahem, Tami Schumaker) who seems to attract this kind of chaos too. I think I might need her to provide moral support and perhaps a rescue plan.
Iâm not complaining, just sharing a laughâor trying to! If my luck can bring a smile to someone, then mission accomplished!
