A bookbar featuring various seating options to play games, relax, unplug and chat with fellow visitors and enjoy a menu of cheeses, Chicago-style hot dogs and ice cream, along with specialty cocktails, craft beers, wine and pour-over coffee. Guests are encouraged to browse our carefully curated selection of uncommon and interesting books, both new and used, in the liberal arts category. The shop also stocks fun and interesting book-related, retro, and socially engaging gift items geared toward encouraging social interaction, traditional human communication, and intellectual stimulation. Plus typewriters are available for you to actually type on, FOOSBALL to play and even a piano! A collaboration with the nonprofit partner, kibbitznest, inc brings you liberal arts discussions led by The University of Chicago Graham School professors and instructors.

PAGE BREAK - 09/16 from 7-8PM - Bring a book or buy one here, grab a drink, and head to the back room for a quiet reading session. The room opens at 6:30pm to grab a spot and settle in. Doors close at 7pm for an hour of silent reading. Seats are first come, first served.

PUZZLE SWAP SOCIETY - 09/22 from 6-7PM - free jigsaw puzzle swap from puzzle swap society! show up with however many puzzles you’d like and leave with any you like. all puzzles are welcome - in this group, everyone fits!

BOARD GAME SPEED DATING - 09/22 from 7-9PM - For men and women in their 20s and 30s. A gaming concierge walks you through several games over the course of the night. You play classics you love and discover brand new games you’ve never heard of, playing each with a different group of fun singles. Brought to you by Quirk Events!

TENX9 STORYTELLING - 09/30 at 7PM - Tenx9 is a local community gathering in Chicago, where 9 people have up to 10 minutes each to tell a real story from their own lives. Each night has a theme exploring the beauty of the human condition. Space is limited, and admission is not guaranteed. Doors open at 6pm. This event is 21+.
