MORE ABOUT THE RECORD & ARTIST
If there’s one constant with Resavoir, the adventurous project from Chicago-based producer, trumpeter, and composer Will Miller, it’s evolution. Since launching the moniker, he’s released two acclaimed self-titled LPs blending electronics with pastoral textures, the 2025 LP Horizon with Matt Gold, and collaborated with artists ranging from Justin Bieber and SZA to Whitney. Live, the project shifts from a 17-piece orchestra to solo performances, always grounded in experimentation and transcendent arrangements.
Themes For Dreams, the latest full-length from Resavoir, finds Miller at his most meditative and intentional. Across 13 cohesive tracks, it forgoes drums for immersive melodies that float and linger—music designed for rest, with enveloping, warm arrangements. While his sparsest record yet, it remains deeply collaborative, featuring artists like Marta Sofia Honer, Jeremiah Chiu, Macie Stewart, and others. Inspired by ambient works like Green and Surround by Hiroshi Yoshimura and Wenn Der Südwind Weht by Hans-Joachim Roedelius, along with early influences like Glenn Gould and Yo-Yo Ma, Miller distills his sound to create his most personal and diaristic work to date.
It’s a sleepytime record that pairs well with a nice cup of tea featuring .rife
