Eden Aurelius is a New York based musician and DJ who originated from Chicago’s vibrant underground. Known for her weightless ambient productions and shapeshifting DJ sets she has become a central voice in the world of electronic music. Influenced by ambient electronica and sound system music, her productions explore the intimacy between the two. A combination of processed samples, hazy atmospheres and live instrumentation. Her performances create evocative, tangible spaces.

Entre Nous is the debut album from Eden Aurelius. A beautifully poised collection for Short Span. A gorgeous showcase of her singular talent within a sparkling scene. Recorded in Brooklyn, NY, this is an innovative, and graceful body of music that feels truly contemporary.

This album felt important for us to have out in time for summer. Emerging out of the heat, a feeling brought alive with the sun. Music that evolves throughout seasons and carries a spectrum of emotional range.

Entre Nous is tight, but expansive. Its depth and complexity is languid but has gravitational pull. Like much of her work, this record feels so refreshing because its tracks are both sensory and illusory tones built in gossamer and transitory layers of satin. They have a remarkable sense of presence and pressure - floating rhythmically without sharp edges. There is guidance and gentle control that lead throughout the record.

The B side opens with “Ion” featuring Pontiac Streator. The song is formed out of a textural haze. A glistening, iridescent light appears, broken through fabric, projecting a blurred image onto the surface nearby. A hypnotic and evocative collaboration. The shared connection between the two artists’ command of rhythm and ambient language.

A night of house, disco and club featuring OGs Anthony Nicholson and Vick Lavender back to back on the decks!

Anthony Nicholson aka Miquifaye is deeply rooted in the movement of taking music and art forward in the city we call Chi-town, across the globe and around the world. A producer since 1992, Anthony has a discography that has been one of the most respected and sought after collections in dance music.

Vick Lavender is the founder of Sophisticado Recordings Chicago and also is the co owner of Bridgeport Record store. As a producer / DJ,Vick elevates the genre of deep & soulful house music by creating unique landscapes & rhythms representing world music, jazz fusion, R&B and various other musical styles. His mastery of these unique sounds gives his music the ability to call to ancestral spirit and permeate the soul of its listener.

Mothafunk isn’t confined by genres— a banger is a banger, whether it’s a deep-dig from the crate, or a fresh Soundcloud find. A Chicago-born, Naarm-based DJ, event producer, and journalist with a decade in the game, Crissy Collins (aka Mothafunk) is on a mission to play good music and continue Chicago’s ethos of treating the dancefloor as a sacred space. She sees it as a place of ritual, connection, and intention.

Tommaso Conforti is a vinyl curator and enthusiast from Florence, Italy, who’s deeply connected to his Italo roots. He’s dug through every crate that has passed through his hands to add to his record collection. His DJ sets are eclectic and musical, combining deep house, jazz-funk, disco, techno, balearic, and other global sounds.

Justin Aulis Long is an alchemist and selector that creates psychedelic and surreal vortexes during communal dance gatherings. Long is able to weave sonic narratives that exist within the liminal spaces where light meets dark.

Amber Gris is a DJ and electronic musician from Chicago. She blends off-the-wall eurodance picks with pulsating techno, electro, newbeat, and body music into a demented hypersexual rhythym. Expect the unexpected, all mixed with a unique touch sure to make you sweat and quiver.

Lorelei has been a work horse for the Chicago music scene ever since she moved here from Atlanta in 2019. Her knowledge and motivation to push and support the punk, post punk, EBM, jackbeat and acid sounds has made her a favorite in the Chicago dance scene.

Originally hailing from Chicago, Juana is a veteran selector who has been making dance floors move since 2001. Her sound is deeply rooted in the raw, underground spirit of her hometown, with an undying penchant for Midwest techno. She has a background blending rare grooves, disco, techno, and deep house, which quickly made her a central figure in Washington, DC. She was a founding member of the influential Sequence collective, helping to establish a darker, more industrial techno aesthetic in the capital.

Natalie Murillo (aka La Spacer) has focused on experiencing the evolution of Chicago’s house music and Detroit’s techno, and the underground global dance craze phenomenon influenced by these two sister cities in different parts of the world since the late 80s. Based on La Spacers’ posteriori knowledge she produces other-worldly hypnotic rhythms with house & techno music as their foundation.

JS Alvarez is the founding member of Research & Development which ignited in the iconic Chicago mainstay of Smartbar. R&D also hosts a biweekly podcast 100+ episodes deep ranging from rising talents, hometown heroes and well established DJs and producers from North America and around the world.
