It’s a special Treberwurst Friday!
Since we didn’t have a brewday on Tuesday, we weren’t able to do our weekly Treberwurst Tuesday ... but today we have special guests from Montana and we had to show them our favorite brewer’s snack!
Today’s special Treberwurst features Montana Craft Malt Munich with a variety of Paulina Market sausages. Come on in and get it while you can — and stay tuned for more info on American Hopfenl***r, our newest Hopfenl***r brewed with all Montana-made malt and hops.
Da Treberwurst FAQ
—
What the heck is Treberwurst?
Treberwurst is a Swiss vineyard workers’ tradition of warming up a snack sausage in pomace, heated by hot steam coming out of the top of a still. Eventually, this clever snack was adapted by b**r brewers (like us)—and we take the brew day’s hot spent grain, and heat up sausages in it.
When’s service start?
Sausages are usually ready around mid-afternoon on Tuesdays. And are served until they run out.
Does this mean there’s meat in the b**r?
No, while we love the meaty flavors of Rauchbier, that flavor is derived from smoked malt. We use spent grain for Treberwurst, which is the *end* of the mash process. No meat goes into the b**r. Take a Saturday brewery tour to find out more about how b**r is made.
