I have some news. As most of you know, I am the owner and manager of Cary's Lounge. Cary's is my legacy. My parents opened this place in 1972. I grew up here. I learned everything here. We built a beautiful community here. We shared so many laughs and shed way too many tears here. I have made too many friends to count. I have fallen in love here. We shared so many glorious victories and more than a few painful defeats here. The great times and memories are too numerous to list (okay, maybe a few are kind of foggy).
I'm tearing up as I write this.
This is to announce that shortly Cary's will have a new owner. I am confident that the new owner will carry on the legacy and keep Cary's as the vital community gathering place that it is. We have lost too many independent third places and I was determined not to lose this one. Our neighborhoods, our city needs these places. Places where people from all walks can meet, where we nurture compassion, kindness, and empathy.
Stay tuned to this page. We're going to do some severe partying.
