Then we’ve got two bands throwing down to celebrate Mute Form latest release “bit” with support from Allston legends Krill

Mute Form started in earnest in late 2023 as a collaboration between a songwriter, a drummer & a sound designer looking for ways to make music that operates outside of the structure of a traditional rock band setup with instruments familiar to the formula.

With that idea in mind, this first couplet of songs found on bit were recorded as a sort of proof of concept: two pieces with distinct approaches to songwriting & sound placed back-to-back and woven together. The result is their introductory single made up of two tracks that were explicitly chosen to oppose one another in an effort to see how broad we could expand their sonic umbrella and what would fit beneath. It’s not so much an end to the limit of the sound, but the beginning of an expanding definition for what broadly fits into it.

Krill was formed in Boston in 2010, and released three albums of strange, grungy, and sometimes catchy songs — Alam No Hris, Lucky Leaves, and A Distant Fist Unclenching— before playing their final-ish show in Brooklyn in 2015. They released another album in 2020 under the name Knot, but now that’s a Krill album, too, because it’s easier that way. Now Krill is a trio based in Chicago, where all the members grew up, and is comprised of songwriter Jonah Furman, longtime drummer Ian Becker, and new guitarist Andrew Clinkman. In late July, the band released the single “Commemorative Plaque,” their first new music in six years.

Behind every great bar, is someone in the basement straining, juicing, chopping, peeling, trimming, stirring, blending, cleaning, cooking, prepping for the shift ahead. For us that's Kevin!

When this New Mexico native isn't keeping the ship afloat, he's playing video games, Arduino, D&D and crocheting. Truly a renaissance man.

His current favorite places outside of Lemon are Central Park Bar & Tzcuo where you can catch him drinking something with lime in it or simply just Malort.

Anyways that's it. Don't ask him further questions. But if you do catch sighting of our imaginary friend, give him a big fat hello.

Juno Dunes is “down-river indie rock.” Balancing thoughtful lyrics and sun-bleached grooves with a swampy mysticism, the songs of Juno Dunes echo influences of songwriters Kurt Vile and Tom Petty. Since their debut in 2018, Juno has been refining a special blend of easy-listening alternative though writing, recording, and performing all around the US.
