Every great bottle has a story, and this one is personal. One of the co-founders of Shortbarrel has been a longtime friend of our family, making this collaboration more than just another barrel pick—it’s the celebration of a friendship built over many years.
Founded in Atlanta by Adam Dorfman, Clinton Dugan, and Patrick Lemmond, Shortbarrel wasn’t built overnight. Before releasing a single bottle, they spent years traveling the country, hand-selecting more than 350 private barrels and developing an unmatched understanding of what makes exceptional bourbon.
The name “Shortbarrel” comes from barrels that have lost more than half their contents to the angel’s share, creating an intensely concentrated whiskey with incredible depth of flavor. That pursuit of bold, complex bourbon became the foundation of everything they do.
In 2021, Shortbarrel officially launched, earning a reputation for exceptional blends, innovative finishing techniques, and award-winning whiskeys. In 2023, they acquired Atlanta’s historic Old Fourth Distillery, giving them the ability to pair world-class blending with their own distilling operation.
Today, Shortbarrel continues to push the boundaries of American whiskey, proving that great bourbon is about more than where it’s made—it’s about the passion, patience, and craftsmanship behind every bottle.
