JUST ANNOUNCED & ON SALE NOW ✶ Meraki record release show at The Southern on August 15 with Work Wear!

Meraki, an indie-rock trio of Rowan Doran (guitar), Elijah Hindman (vocals) and Tate Ryan (drums) formed in the summer of 2024 at Music Resource Center’s song writing camp and are now rising juniors at Charlottesville High School. Meraki's sound is influenced by the soaring melodies and odd time signatures of Radiohead, and the songwriting of Modern Baseball and local favorites Work Wear. 2025 was a break-out year for Meraki. They won the Music Resource Center's Battle of the Bands and played at Fridays After Five and many other local stages like Firefly, The Southern, and WTJU. Meraki will be dropping their first album this August on all streaming platforms!

New Threats from the Soul is a masterclass in reducing the sublime to the prosaic, immensity to infinitesimally, and vice versa (the trick can only work both ways). Everything in our universe is essentially flotsam or jetsam, rubbish heaps of fragments and shards. We, especially, are jerry-rigs of bubblegum and driftwood, inconsistencies and incoherencies, dead dreams and necrophagous hopes. The record functions in parallel with Kafka’s winking dictum that there is an infinite amount of hope in the universe, just not for us. New Threats suggests that maybe, just maybe, something like redemption is possible, but only once we’re entirely emptied out and hawked in toto down at Walden Pawn.

Foxtide is a by product of being bred by the beach and raised by a DIY house show scene. The SoCal three-piece was formed around garage jam sessions and earned their cult following through the intense vitality of their live shows. First starting to release music in 2019, it was the band’s second EP Visons in 2021 that took them from a hometown secret to a band to watch nationally. Foxtide has previously played alongside The Backseat Lovers, Echo & The Bunnymen, Lime Cordiale, Sarah and the Sundays, and Arcy Drive.

Moving into the chapter of their next project, Foxtide is abandoning the idea that they need to
create “perfect” music, and simply making what they like to listen to. Tinged with the aloofness of
early 2000s rock, while experimenting with the formulas of modern pop, all threads are knotted in
the authenticity behind Foxtide’s unrelenting love for music.
