POPLAR has closed its doors at their Fourth Ward Historic District location. Neighborhood permits not required for parking less than 2 hours.

We thank all our friends and supporters and hope to see you again in a future endeavour! PARKING, RESERVATIONS & INFO
Reservations not required, but are helpful for larger groups. Email [email protected], or call (704) 940-5757 during business hours. We are located in the Historic Fourth Ward neighborhood where street parking is available (first-come, first-served) free for visitors

for up to 2 hours on nearby streets (10th, 11th, Poplar and Church Streets). (Please avoid any spots labeled "Limited Parking", as those are usually placed in loading/unloading spots.)

POPLAR Tapas Restaurant in Fourth Ward Announces Closure with a Promise of New
Beginnings: The popular date night spot will serve its last drink on October 7.

With deep appreciation and gratitude for the unwavering support over the years, POPLAR Tapas, located in the heart of Charlotte's Historic Fourth Ward, today announces its permanent closure. The last day of service will be Saturday,
October 7, 2023.

Having opened its doors in 2016, POPLAR has been more than just a restaurant. It became a gathering place for neighbors, the devoted Friends of Fourth Ward, and our beloved international community patrons. Co-owners Lucia Zapata Griffith and Bruno Macchiavello expressed, "The journey over these seven years has been remarkable, filled with cherished memories and unparalleled community support."

While POPLAR's presence in its current location concludes, the spirit of innovation and hospitality created at this neighborhood gem will continue. "This is not a goodbye but a brief interlude," Lucia and Bruno assure. An upcoming venture,
location to be announced in the coming months, is on the horizon. “We ask our patrons and the community to stay tuned for an exciting new dining experience that will continue POPLAR’s legacy of building community around the table.”

The team at POPLAR is grateful to all who have dined, celebrated, and created memories within its walls. Lucia, Bruno, and the entire POPLAR staff extend their deepest gratitude and look forward to welcoming everyone to their future endeavors.

POPLAR Tapas will be open regular hours this week and next (Wed-Sat, 5-10 pm). Join the team in saying goodbye to POPLAR on October 6 and 7 as they celebrate their last weekend of business with live music, bottles of wine for sale from their inventory, and an opportunity to have a favorite dish and create a lasting memory.
