🚨 Important Update: Friday Operations at The Scorpio
We want to be completely transparent with our Charlotte community regarding a strategic shift in our weekly operations.
Friday nights have faced a steady decline in attendance for some time. Combined with recent inflation and rising gas prices, the local hospitality scene has felt a severe impact. This isn’t unique to us—venues across North Carolina are navigating a highly challenging economic climate. Operating a venue of our scale two nights a week with such significant overhead is no longer sustainable.
To adapt, we are temporarily pivoting our weekly Friday operations exclusively to private event hosting. This allows us to manage overhead effectively while ensuring our q***r staff and entertainers remain fully employed.
What this means moving forward:
Monthly Fridays: We are channeling our resources into producing one massive, high-energy Friday event each month.
Elevated Saturdays: We are dedicating our full focus to making Saturdays at The Scorpio a premier nightlife experience. Expect headlining DJs, national talent, stars from RuPaul's Drag Race, massive themed parties, and fully immersive, concert-style drag showcases.

Supporting Our Space:
The Scorpio has stood as a sanctuary since 1968. Today, independent q***r venues nationwide are disappearing due to shifting economic landscapes. Showing up on weekends and supporting local entertainers is how we preserve these spaces.
