It is with a heavy heart we share this post with you today,

Early Monday morning, an unimaginable tragedy happened to our beloved co-worker, Shaleen, and her family. Lightning struck a tree hanging over her and her husband, Paul Saunders’, apartment. When the tree fell, it destroyed their apartment and Paul lost his life. Shaleen has been left to rebuild her life without her home and without her husband.

Please join us in raising enough money to cover funeral and living costs for our dear Shaleen during this devastating time. The road ahead for her will not be an easy one, but with the love and support from our strong community, together we can help lift her up and take what little stress we can off of her.

Dandelion market is and always has been a place for the people. What began as an artisan market in Dublin, Ireland back in the 1970s, deeply inspired the restaurant we all know and love today. In every expression of itself, Dandelion market has been a time capsule for memories and connections made in its history, as well as the stories shared among its people.

From Dublin, Ireland to Charlotte, North Carolina, Dandelion Market has always been about one thing in particular- bringing people together over something meaningful.
Whether that was buying a sheepskin coat from the doorstep of the man who started it all, or trading pairs of handmade shoes… Whether it was watching live music, or feeling the power of poetry shake the floorboards beneath your feet… having a Guinness served by your favorite bartender, sharing a meal of your favorite tapas plates, or dancing the night away in a room full of strangers who quickly become friends… there has always been some trace of meaning for everyone.
That is what it’s all about.

So, as we close the doors on a building that has fostered the magic of Dandelion Market for the last 15 years, know that the end of this chapter is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of the next expression. So, come celebrate with us on our final day today, July 21st, 2024, from 10am-2am. And stay posted, because one day we will meet again at Dandelion Market.

It’s the last stretch folks. Two weeks left at Dandelion Market… While it’s sad to see this place leave its home of fifteen years, we are still excited to celebrate with all of you, friends old and new. So many memories made in this building, and there’s still time to make some more! We are still offering the full experience of Dandelion Market-
- your favorite tapas plates
- Dandelion specials
- the late night experience you know and love
(now beginning on Thursday nights in addition to Fri/Sat)
- brunch offered Sat/Sun featuring our signature Bloody Mary bar and $21 mimosa carafes
- full dinner menu served until 11pm, limited menu served as bar service only until 12pm Sun-Thur

Our final day open is Sunday, July 21st.
We highly encourage making reservations as space can be limited with guests coming in to get the most out of these next two weeks. Reservations will not be made for the 21st.

We appreciate the love and support shown to us already by our Charlotte community. Thank you for your empathy, for your stories, and for being hard to share more meals and make more memories.

It's with a mix of nostalgia and sadness that Dandelion Market must say goodbye to its current home on 5th street in Uptown Charlotte. Our last day of operations will be on July 21st.  For years, we have tried to be more than just a restaurant; we have tried to be a hub for the community, a place where neighbors met, memories were made and exchanged.

As we reflect on the last 15 years, we remember the friendly faces, great times and many celebrations had. While this marks the end of an era, let's celebrate the memories made and the friendships forged within those walls. Let's cherish the legacy of Dandelion Market and carry its spirit forward to its next iteration.

Thank you to the Charlotte community for being so supportive of us over the past 15 years and we look forward to celebrating over the next few weeks and the time we get to serve you again!
