Every now and again, we get offered a deal from a w**ery that almost seems too good to be true...but then once we taste the w**e and know that it's real, we are already sad that there is only a finite amount available 😂

The latest w**e to meet that criteria is Le Skiff de Malartic. At $19.99 per bottle this w**e is absolutely bananas...but the w**ery only offered us 168 cases for all 9 stores.

Some of you may remember when we featured the 2018 Château Malartic-Lagravière — easily one of my favorite w**es of the last few years.

Le Skiff de Malartic is its younger sibling — and in some ways, an even more exciting w**e for the money.

A little backstory: Château Malartic-Lagravière has always had a touch of flair. The estate began as Domaine de Lagravière, but in the 1850s the Malartic family took it over and added their name to the label, in honor of their famous son, Comte Anne-Joseph-Hippolyte Maures de Malartic (what a name!), a decorated admiral in the French Navy. Hence the ship on the label — not just decoration, but a nod to their history.

Fast forward to 1997, when the Bonnie family (yes, of soap fortune) purchased the estate. They didn’t just buy a Bordeaux château to hang out on weekends (but I would not hate that) — they invested millions into bringing Malartic back to the forefront. And it worked. Over the last two decades, vintage after vintage has earned critical praise, regardless of whether Mother Nature blessed Bordeaux or made life difficult.

So what does that have to do with Le Skiff? Think of it as the second w**e that captures all the polish and pedigree of Malartic, but without the collector’s price tag. Coming from the same gravelly soils of Pessac-Léognan, it has that classic Left Bank character, but it’s also beautifully approachable right now.

So suffice it to say...I know what I'm drinking tonight!

Lowest Online Price in the US!

SALE runs until Sunday September 13th, 2026

Reminder we open at 9am Thursday - Saturday!

The fact that we can still buy extremely high quality w**e from Europe for $7.99 is almost mind blowing at this point, but Chazeaux is basically on an island of its own when it comes to w**es that fly off the quality to price ratio chart.

THE breakout value star for us in the last six years also happens to be maybe the best $7.99 bottle of Pinot Noir you are ever gonna try.

We've only sent 4 e-mails about it in the last 6 years and you all clearly like what you tasted the first time you bought it. You came back for more and more to the tune of over 74,600 bottles (that's a lot of love!).

Beuchottes hails from the Languedoc-Roussillon, a region of France where Pinot Noir can prosper, but only in the cooler spots. As you have probably guessed, the components for this little gem come from some of the coolest areas in the region. That said, the main goal here was to marry a traditional and elegant French style of w**emaking while highlighting some of the vibrant complexity you find in larger reds from the Languedoc - and Beuchottes accomplishes that in spades.

Things I love include Pinot Noir, and great w**es priced nearly half the price of a twice baked potato the grocery charged me for the other day (what is even going on anymore...)

This is in my wheelhouse!!

Buy it by the case...At $7.99 this is your new house Pinot Noir for the fall!

Happy Wednesday all!

It's my 16th wedding anniversary today, so I'm breaking open a bottle of honestly what is one of the top 3 red w**es I've had this year...and it kinda came out of nowhere.

We knew we loved it when we tried it for the first time at W**e Paris back in February, but when I re-tried it 3 weeks ago it was absolutely FIRING. I almost finished the entire bottle myself (this is a judgement free zone folks!)

So what can I tell you about this EPIC w**e?

Every year at the largest w**e trade show in France, we spend a good amount of time just wandering. What are we looking for? Iconic packaging. We’ve had good luck in seeking out w**eries that spend a lot of time thinking about their packaging…as they often spend just as much, if not more time, thinking about the w**e that goes inside. It doesn’t always hold up that way, but it does more often than not.

This year, we had one absolutely epic find…Chateau Le Grace Dieu…and the story about how the w**ery came to be is almost as epic as the w**e itself.

This w**e?!?!

Single vineyard, 5 acre parcel of Merlot. It's raised in 100% new French oak, and not from a single cooper. They select barrels from multiple tonnelleries each vintage, matching the oak's grain and toast level to the character of that specific year. That is a Grand Cru Classé practice being applied to a five-acre plot by a family of farmers.

The estate calls it une cuvée confidentielle. I love secret w**es 😂

$1 from every bottle is going to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library on top of our $500 donation!

We're breaking out some bubbles today to celebrate the amazing life of the one and only Dolly Parton.

In an era of celebrities and business folk flaunting wealth, mega yachts, Gulfstreams, and private clubs, Dolly flaunted something else entirely: kindness. Giving Back. Remembering exactly where you come from and taking care of the people that are still there.

She was born in a cabin on Locust Ridge, Tennessee, the fourth of twelve children. Her father, who could neither read nor write, paid the doctor who delivered her with a sack of cornmeal.

There are plenty of roundups on Dolly and the woman that she was, the impact she had and her life story floating all over the internet. One charity in particular that she was most fond of was her Imagination Library, based in her home county and at the start provided a free book, mailed to a child's home, every single month from birth until age five. No forms needed to fill out. No strings attached. Just books showing up for kids in their mailbox.

Today the program has donated over 300 MILLION books to children all over the world, including right here in North Carolina and Georgia.

So this week we are raising a glass to her and we're making a donation of $500 to the Imagination Library today in memory of Dolly Parton. We would encourage you to donate if you can, even $5, to help celebrate a life well lived. You can donate here. We will also be donating $1 from each bottle sold today to the library as well. The thirstier you are, the more books we get to give.

Her family's statement called it "a rhinestone life that shone bright enough for the world to see."

Raise one tonight. Remember what Dolly said, "Don't get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life."

Believe me...or don't believe me...but this may be the deal of the year, and I'm not sure it's gonna be even close.

For starters, real Oregon Pinot Noir for $9.99 basically does not exist. A cursory search of google will confirm this for you.

This begs the question though - why are we seeing it for $9.99. Is something wrong with it? A little long in the tooth? Flavors are off? We ask those questions all the time when we see deals this good pop up.

One taste of Six Stones Pinot Noir and all I can tell you, this w**e is darn near perfect. It's better than some $40 Pinot Noirs we have in the store right now.

The main issue, as it is with all the best deals, is that inventory is finite. We have 280 cases at this price and then that is it. (To put that into context you all bought 423 cases of Snowvale last week at $9.99...so expect this to be gone in a hot minute).

Six Stones is a label from Foris Vineyards, and Foris is a name serious Oregon drinkers know. Ted Ge**er went south in 1971, armed with 30 years of weather data, and bought his first 15 acres near an abandoned mining town called Holland, in the hills above Cave Junction. He planted vines in 1974. At the time, he was every bit the pioneer down south that Lett, Erath, Adelsheim, and Ponzi were up in the Willamette Valley. Those guys became household names, but Ge**er just kept farming.

Fifty years later, Foris is still family owned, still farming the same land: 400 acres in a pristine alpine valley at the base of the Siskiyou Mountains, in the Illinois Valley, the coolest and most coastal corner of the Rogue Valley AVA. Warm days, genuinely cold mountain nights, and Pinot that comes out pure, silky, and vibrant. Ge**er was also one of the first believers in Dijon clones, and his propagation program supplied cuttings to top California w**eries. The man quietly shaped more of West Coast Pinot than most people will ever know.

First come, first served.

SALE ends Sunday August 23rd, 2026

Not every offer this week could be $9.99 per bottle 😂 (how many businesses do you hear that from these days!)

This is only the 3rd time we have been able to sell this w**e at $19.99 per bottle, and every time we are able to I load up. It is one of my favorite w**es in the store, and it may well be my favorite package in the store!
The deal lasts through Sunday, or until we run out of product - whichever comes first.

This will be fun to watch, as this is a little bit of a "if you know, you know" kinda w**e. So I imagine for a group of w**e buyers this is gonna be like if Porsche suddenly put the 911 Turbo on sale for the price of a Camry. 😂

What makes this stuff so special?

This Spanish powerhouse comes from nearly century-old garnacha vines, yielding some of the lowest tonnage yields I have ever heard of, and is aged in 100% new Taransaud French Oak (think the Ferrari of the barrel world).

Let me put the yields in perspective for you.

Take Le Musigny - one of the most hallowed Grand Cru sites in all of Burgundy, where bottles start around $300 and can run into the thousands. In a good year, Musigny yields about 3,500 liters of w**e per hectare.

The ancient Garnacha vines that go into Ladron? They yield just 700 liters per hectare.

That means every 2.5 acres of vines at this site only produces 933 bottles of w**e. These are Burgundy Grand Cru yields from Spanish old vines. In Napa, producers would charge $500 for this bottle based on scarcity alone and call it a bargain.

The first time we tasted it we were floored - first by the color (nearly opaque), then by the flavor profile (think the w**e equivalent of the movie Roadhouse - powerful, structured, unforgettable), and finally by the price we were offered.

It only further reinforced what we already knew: some of the most outstanding values in all of w**edom continue to come out of Spain.

SALE runs Tuesday August 18th - Sunday August 23rd, 2026

*Curbside Pickup Always Available*

Once a year, at the end of August, we put our best selling w**e of all time on sale for $9.99 per bottle. This year was a little different as we also put Snowvale on sale at $9.99 in June to celebrate our 20th Anniversary.

So, for only the 13th time EVER, this week is your chance to secure some Snowvale Cabernet at $9.99.

Next time at $9.99? August 2027!!

For the better part of a decade now, Snowvale Cabernet has dominated the sales charts - and the w**e shows no signs of slowing down. It may be the best Cabernet value on the market right now.

W**e legends Baron Ziegler and Rob Fischer are masters of their craft, and the 2022 Snowvale is a perfect example of why what they do is so special.

This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon represents a pretty unreal value. As we've told you before, there are even stores in NC selling this w**e for $31! (Picture below). I was also told of a restaurant in Charlotte charging $20 for kids buttered noodles. The world seemingly has lost its mind...but not us.

In an ocean full of uninspiring Cabernet at this price point, Snowvale just works. Tuesday night Tacos? Boom. Wednesday night burgers. Done. Saturday night Netflix. But of course. (anyone watching anything that is must see? I need a new show!

So let the mayhem begin! One week only at $9.99 - until next year!

Happy Tuesday all!

I feel like the fact we found these people is almost divine intervention. They were in a booth the size of a small coat closet at the world's second largest w**e trade show, mostly meeting with their restaurant and retail clients in Paris. They were kind enough to let us taste some w**es three years ago (even though they had none to sell at the time) and we were absolutely floored by the quality.

Which brings me to today's w**e, and a dirty little secret about Burgundy.

Appellation boundaries in Burgundy are drawn by committees, not by soil. The vines don't know where the lines are. And this Bourgogne Pinot Noir is the best example of that I can show you: the parcel it comes from sits at the very edge of the Pommard village appellation. The domaine's own technical sheet says it plainly: produced exclusively at the limit of Pommard Village. A few feet one way, the w**e gets to say Pommard on the label and charge accordingly. A few feet the other way, it's "just" Bourgogne.

Same limestone soils. Same family. Same cellar.

And here's the part I love: they make this w**e exactly the way they make their Premier Crus. Hand harvested (their words: for total respect of the grapes). Fermented for about fifteen days in wooden vats. Then into oak barrels through the winter until malolactic fermentation finishes. This is not the phoned-in entry level w**e of the range. It's 1.87 hectares, about four and a half acres, of estate vines getting the exact same treatment as vineyards that sell for multiples of the price.

I know this was a lot to read, but I have all the "feels" for these w**es. W**eries are a lot like fashion houses: some things just end up costing more because people are able to market them in the right way, to the right people, not necessarily because of any tender lovin' care. Here you're getting honestly the most TLC I've ever seen put into some w**es, at a price to quality ratio that is simply outrageous by Burgundy standard

One thing I have been thinking about lately is expensive rosé. It feels like it is everywhere right now.

Rosé was never meant to be expensive.

Think about what makes a w**e cost a lot of money: new oak barrels, extended aging in the cellar, capital tied up for years before even one bottle can be sold.

Rosé requires none of these things. The w**e gets a few hours of skin contact for color, ferments in stainless steel, and is bottled usually within 2-3 months of harvest.

Then 15 years ago Whispering Angel jumped on to the scene and the marketing folks got involved. Whispering Angel now has a rosé in their lineup that sells for over $100 a bottle. The Hamptons runs out of it every summer, and somehow a w**e that costs less to make than just about anything else in the product lineup, is carrying a price tag that would make a Burgundy blush.

I say all of this, to say this...it doesn't have to be this way. Bleu Blanc Thau rosé is a PERFECT example.

Three years ago, we learned that the w**ery behind white w**e value superstar Bleu Blanc Thau also made a rosé, so we of course had to try it. So we did...and it was amazing (these guys are good).

Then we found out the price...and it is as if the rosé gods wanted to take us back to the OG provencal rosé: a w**e that is inexpensive, endlessly quaffable, and pairs perfectly with everything, or nothing at all.

What are the details?

The south of France has been home to a sea of vines for centuries, though its heyday was the late 19th century after the newly built railroad allowed shipments to fill the carafes of Parisian cafes. Cotes de Thau is gaining notoriety for its rosé w**es grown beneath the former volcano of Agde, with a mix of garrigue, sand, nearby sea and lagoons. The Bleu Blanc Thau Rosé is a blend of Cinsault and Merlot made in a crisp, clean, even racy style of pink w**e.

So if rosé is your thing (and in the summer it is definitely my thing), you'll want to jump on this bandwagon.

This Chardonnay in just 12 short months has become the #2 Chardonnay in terms of sales at the entire company.

And it is showing no signs of slowing down! Sales are up a mind numbing 236% in 2026 👀

What in the world is going on here?

By now most all of you know about how epic Darley Proprietary Red is...as it has become one of the best selling red w**es in our store over the last several years.

Turns out they have a Chardonnay program, previously available to restaurants only, and said Chardonnay is DELICIOUS.

Based on early feedback, I think most of you had the same reaction I had the first time I tasted this w**e.

My reaction? Just shut it down.

Nobody even needs to try and make Chardonnay to compete with this stuff, especially when it is on sale for $9.99 per bottle 😂.

I get a smile on my face these days when I meet producers who are really trying to push the boundaries of how excellent w**e under $15 can taste, and how awesome w**e packaging in that same category can look.

Darley has been stretching those boundaries on the red w**e front for some time. It only seems natural that their whites will push the boundaries even further.

Beautiful package, beautiful w**e, beautiful price...what else do we need here?

I know what I'm drinking tonight!
