FR NEWS!🗞️ Allow us to formally introduce Zac, Free Range’s new Head Brewer! And if you’ve spent any time in Charlotte’s craft beer world, you may already know him. Zac is a Charlotte native who trained in Munich, cut his teeth at the original NoDa Brewing on N. Davidson, and eventually left to open his own place in Asheville.
Zac has been part of this city’s beer story for a long time. He was a Free Range regular from the early days (he’s literally in the mural), and even recalls talking shop with Jason back when Jason was working at 22 in Plaza/Midwood. Now, ten years after leaving Charlotte, Zac’s back home.🌾
🍺 NEW BEER: There and Back Again
Zac’s first release with Free Range is available now available on draft! There And Back Again - a Foraged Pale Wheat Ale, 4% ABV. Made with pine flowers, lavender buds and sumac berries.
The pine flowers offer subtle notes of evergreen and citrus. There’s a light floral presence from the lavender and the sumac gives a touch of lemony tartness. A moderately high level of carbonation makes it bright and expressive. Brewed with 99% local ingredients.
More to come from him soon. For now, come say howdy and enjoy his latest brew. Welcome, Zac! 🙌
