Tonight’s tasting has a fun Cabernet comparison, plus a Pinot Noir to start.
We’re pouring:
Charles Woodson’s Intercept Pinot Noir — Monterey County
This is the lighter red in the lineup. Pinot Noir is usually softer, with red fruit, a little earthiness, and a smoother finish. Good one to taste first before the bigger reds.
Charles Woodson’s Intercept Cabernet Sauvignon — Paso Robles
Paso Robles Cabernet usually brings more body, darker fruit, and a little more richness. Think blackberry, plum, spice, and a fuller finish.
Heritage Cabernet Sauvignon — Columbia Valley
Columbia Valley Cabernet can show a little more structure and balance. Dark fruit, cocoa, maybe a touch of cedar or spice. This is a good contrast to the Paso Cab because it gives people a chance to taste how region changes the same grape.
