Meet Max, our General Manager and the heart behind the experience at Mizu. ✨

Originally from Los Angeles, Max made the move to Charlotte in search of a place to slow down, raise his kids, and build a life rooted in family. Hospitality has always been part of who he is; growing up in restaurants, it runs in his blood.

What made him fall in love with this industry? “Providing instant gratification is addicting.” Seeing guests leave happy, cared for, and connected is what continues to inspire him every day.

For Max, Mizu is more than a restaurant. His goal is simple: for every guest to feel at home and like part of the family the moment they walk through our doors.

Outside of work? You’ll find him doing all the dad things like golfing, swimming, soaking up the sun with his kids, and cheering on sports.

At the heart of our kitchen is the robata grill, a traditional Japanese cooking technique that uses open-flame charcoal grilling to bring out bold flavor, delicate smokiness, and incredible texture in every bite. From perfectly grilled skewers to signature dishes, our chefs use this centuries-old method to create an experience that’s as memorable as the view.
