Mooney's Travel for Tuesday Lunch reviews

Today I did my travel for lunch. Maybe next week I'll be back on my normal day. Today I went to Clinton, IL and Snappers Bar & Grill. I got an appetizer of the Johnny Hot Balls, which was basically cheese curds with a bit of heat. I also got the Yardburger. It was a big 2 Patty burger loaded with bacon and other stuff. It was fresh and hot. A sign right as you enter says it takes time for food to arrive, which is a first, but at least they're honest. It take a bit of time for the burger. All things considered, this would be a place I would go to if I lived in this town.

Today took me to Danville, IL to Iron Mike's Bar & Grill. Nice little bar on Route 1. I got the Shannon Wrap with fries. The wrap was really good. Philly steak meat, bacon, jalapeño mac and cheese bites, and Chipotle Mayo was inside the wrap. For those of you like heat, they have a reaper wrap. I didn't try it, but heard someone say that the sauce smells like it's hot. The fries were normal fries, but they came out fresh and hot. So hot I had to let them cool for a second. Definitely a nice spot.

Well I decided for a bit that I will do a local Champaign/Urbana/Savoy/ Mahomet review of a few places I go to. So today I went to Breaking Taco in Mahomet. This place serves Mexican cuisine. There salsa is different from other Mexican places. My first try, I wasn't sure if I liked it, but it grew on me. It's actually real good. Today I got there green verde chicken enchiladas. Like other items I have tried from them it was really good. Definitely a nice spot for Mahomet. This place has a small dining room.

Didn't really do a travel for lunch today due to me going to Bloomington with my friend to pick up some stuff for work. However, we did go to Destihl Restaurant. Normally, I wouldn't share this place because it was also once in Champaign and since they sell their beer in California (sours at least), I don't consider them small enough. However, the dish I had today was absolute delicious from them, I decided to share. My friend and I got the fried asparagus for an appetizer. It's a good start for what I had coming next. My main dish I got the stuffed pablano pepper with chorizo. This will be my favorite dish from this place from here on out. Stay tuned, my next day off is Thursday. I may venture out to do a real travel for lunch then. Where will I go? You'll have to wait and see.

Some more Info on this page. I travel once a week, mainly Tuesday's, but could be a different day of the week. I travel normally within an hour of Champaign, IL. Always welcome to suggestions. Eventually I will post reviews of Champaign/Urbana/Savoy/Mahomet places. If places are recommended that are farther than an hour or so away, I'll keep them for special trips. Also, I will not be going to places that specialize in pizza, if you know me you know why.
