Dillys Friends & Family Reunion Picnic September 29th, (2:00-6:00)
St. Thomas Legion Picnic Grounds

Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish or something to share, as well as any “soft” beverage for your personal consumption.
There is limited “under roof” picnic table seating. So, bringing your own chairs is encouraged. Canopy’s or pop ups can also be brought.
There will be a “cash” bar available. (Absolutely No Outside Alcohol)
This event has been planned for the sole purpose of reconnecting with friends of Dilly’s!
Please respond as either, “coming” , or “interested”, so we can get a feel as to who and how many to expect!

Update 2/12:
Coming home tomorrow!!!
They did the swallow test under x-ray and everything seemed to go into the stomach rather the lungs.
Praying that this is the last hiccup.

Update 2/11:
Surgery went well. They worked on both vocal chords.
Unable to speak for 24 hours. After that they will run tests to see if it worked and he is able to eat safely.

Update 2/9:
Surgery scheduled for tomorrow or Monday to repair vocal chords.
Then more testing to see if that corrects the issues.
He should be able to eat again after that if all goes well.

Friends...
Dilly has been urgently re-admitted to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
He has been, unknowingly, aspirating.
His voice has been reduced to a horse whisper for some time now.
The medical staff there are running some tests.
We are very prayerfully hoping that this will be resolved without too much intervention.
Prayers for comfort are very much appreciated!
Also. I’m asking for prayers for Sandy.
She has been by his side through out this ordeal. And she is staying with him at the medical center every night.
Last note.
He is now refusing a feeding tube.
If you know my Dad, and he helped you in any way.
Which he did for so many.
Please say a prayer for him.

UPDATE 12/23
Dilly is coming home tomorrow!
He is doing very well.
Praise the lord!
Regina is making the trek to get them home on Christmas Eve.
Pray for a safe passage.
It’s going to be a challenging recovery but he has Sandy, myself, and Kevin here at home and we are dedicated and on board to get him through this!

UPDATE 12/22
He is in a regular room now and improving rapidly! It looks like he may be home for Christmas! 💪💪

UPDATE 12/20 6:00 PM:
Dilly is still in the ICU. The staff there anticipated that he would be moved to a regular room today.
However, he has had some heart issues. (Afib) They are saying that this is a common occurrence after this kind of surgery and think that they have gotten it under control.
So, hopefully he will be moved out of the ICU tomorrow.

UPDATE 12/19 1:30 PM:
Off the ventilator and up in a chair. Giving all the ICU Staff a hard time and a laugh!
All those prayers being answered. Thank you all!

He is out. Everything looks good as of now but they are keeping him on the ventilator until tomorrow. There were a few complications early into the surgery but they were resolved. 11 Hours! 💪💪💪

Surgery is at the halfway point. Everything is going well so far.

Dilly is being admitted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital this evening for his early morning Surgery tomorrow.
All and every prayer is appreciated.
I will be posting after he is done with updates.
