Shane & I came to visit the Ship Moose today. Anyone who has a currently paid membership from Chambersburg that was transferred to the General Assembly in Illinois when the 842 closed is welcome to transfer their membership to Shippensburg with NO transfer fees! We've met some nice people, had a great bartender & felt very welcomed here. Highly recommend!

For over a year now I have consistently received messages on this page every week asking about the status of the club. I have not posted or responded to most of them because I was told not to. I'm sorry for that.

As most of our loyal members know, the club is now permanently closed & we have lost our 842 charter. The WOTM group, led by Gloria Weagley, stayed strong through the struggles & took the proper steps to combine with another local lodge. If you have any questions about any of this you can reach out to our Moose state representatives or to Moose International.

Having gotten to know so many of you personally I have listened & equally understood how much the club & the relationships that were built there meant to us. Yesterday myself & many others attended the memorial celebration of life for Jeff Mayer. Seeing the VFW filled with previous members of The 842 sharing & supporting Jody & their family with this loss truly touched me. Just because we don't have a building or a charter anymore doesn't mean we don't still have one another & the bonds we built there. I am extremely thankful to many of the other local clubs that have embraced our members & given them a new "home".

Since I set this page up myself & it is not run by the Moose organization I have decided to keep it active & have changed the name to "We Remember Moose Lodge 842". I hope you all continue to use it to post pictures & memories from the many years of happiness we all enjoyed together at the club.

If there are any announcements about the health or well being of members or get togethers that you would like me to post just send me a private message & I will do so. I'm sorry that it took me this long to reach out. Losing the club & not seeing all of you in my daily life has been quite difficult & it has taken me some time to adjust & be ready to publicly reach out. I wish you all the best & hope our paths continue to cross & we get to keep making more memories together.

The 842 will be reopening Saturday July 18th. Our hours will be 11am-9pm daily. PLEASE READ & SHARE THIS POST so everyone knows what to expect.

Per the new state mandates that took effect July 16th:
*We are only able to operate at 25% capacity.
*You MUST wear a mask to enter & it must be worn anytime you are not seated at your table.
*A meal (made on premises & meeting LCE standards of what a meal is) must be bought in order to purchase alcohol.
*Service at the bar is NOT permitted.

Our staff & our Board of Officers have been working very hard to insure we are in compliance with the required Covid mandates on our business. Parts of the new guidelines are currently very vague, so as new information becomes available we may need to make some changes to what we currently have planned to do, so PLEASE bear with us. We are doing our best to keep our doors open & operate within these ever changing guidelines & continue to follow the path of The Moose.

When you arrive please sign the book & then we hope you will stay to help support the lodge. If you do so, please find a seat at a table. We have created a short menu of very affordable meal options for you to choose from. One of our bartenders will be with you shortly to take your food & drink order. If we happen to reach capacity for the areas we currently have open please be understanding & come visit us another time.

We want to say THANK YOU to all of those who have been in to visit the club since we reopened & have been so understanding as we have been navigating these challenges. Your kindness & support has meant so much & is why we are working so hard to continue to keep our doors open!! We look forward to seeing you all again starting Saturday & hope to see many more in the upcoming weeks 😁

Based on the new state mandates released today regarding Covid we will be closing tonight, July 15th at 9pm. We will be working on a plan to provide some type of meal & reopening as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience & understanding in this matter.

Good Morning 842'ers! Happy 4th of July!!
After 3 months of being closed we weren't ready to miss another day of seeing our members. Stop in today & we'll serve you up some ice cold beverages to beat this summer heat. We'll be open 11am-7pm.

After 3+ LONG months, today is finally the day!!
Doors will be open today starting at 11am.
Our current hours will be 11am-9pm everyday.

Hello 842 Members!
Our official reopen date will be Monday, June 29th! 😃 And we are so excited to see you all again!!

Our hours will be 11am-9pm daily, at 50% capacity.

Some things will be a bit different for awhile in order to insure we are in compliance with the current CDC, PA Department of Health, PA Liquor Control & Moose International Covid requirements. Our goal at The 842 is to keep our members, staff & volunteers safe while allowing us to ease back into some of the "normal" parts of life we've all been missing.

When you arrive at the lodge please insure you wear a mask & have your valid membership card or paid receipt. A staff member or volunteer will be at the door to great you & explain our current requirements. Please be patient as we all work together to adapt to these new procedures.

842'ers, OH HOW WE'VE MISSED YOU!!!
We had such a great time today delivering the first batch of moose masks to members & catching up with you all. THANK YOU to all who have purchased so far and for the smiles & hospitality today. Masks are selling quick so if you haven't gotten one yet text 717-658-7800 soon to get yours reserved & for us to plan a socially distanced visit to see you too.
