Finished up this period inspired pipe bag. The theme is taken from a sailor that had a tremendous impact on literature....

Finished up this period inspired pipe bag. The theme is taken from a sailor that had a tremendous impact on literature. His story was the basis for Herman Melleville’ novel Moby Dick. His name is inscribed on a plate on the front and bares sailor artwork from the early 18th century. Leather dye was used to create the artwork on the pouch and it was all stitched by hand.

Flask spout plug with integral vent pick. The thumb piece is made from Reh Deer antler rosette and turned on the lathe. The pick is shaped from a brass bar and then heated to twist.
