Making spirits from scratch (avoiding the common industry practice of purchasing and bottling pre-made spirits) and changing the way people understand and interact with alcohol. We started on the premise that interesting and complex spirits could be produced on a small scale by passionate people. We start with raw ingredients, taking them all the way to the finished bottled product. The pride we t

ake in that finished product creates even more drive to make the next batch even better. Small batch. Hand-Crafted Spirits. The tasting room offers a taste of all of our products including single releases and cocktails for sale. Tours are on-demand and we can handle groups of up to 30.

Three years ago this started as a wild little experiment. Now, it’s apart of the Downslope yearly lineup.

Our Malted Oat Whiskey began as an experimental release and quickly became one of the most talked-about whiskeys we’ve ever made. Crafted from 51% malted oats and 49% malted barley, it delivers a silky texture with layers of nutty sweetness, vanilla, and oak.

Experimental 100% Peated American Single Malt 🌾🔥

Our upcoming single-barrel, cask-strength American Single Malt is shaped entirely by North American terroir. High-altitude barley grown in Colorado’s San Luis Valley and malted by our friends at Colorado Malting Company, gently smoked (20ppm) with Canadian grass peat. Lighter, brighter smoke. No heavy oak. No borrowed tradition.

This is peat without pretense.
Smoke shaped by grasslands, not bogs.
A whiskey defined by where it comes from.

Happy Holidays from Downslope! 🥃🖤

We just want to say thank you. To our customers, our family, our friends, and the community that continues to show up for us year after year. Since our official ownership change in 2021, it has truly been a whirlwind, and we would not be here without the support, encouragement, and love you’ve all given us along the way.

Every bottle purchased, every cocktail enjoyed, helps us continue growing this slightly crazy dream Zach had six years ago. Getting to build this together, and share it with all of you, is something we never take for granted. We pour our hearts into everything we do. Every drop of whiskey, every cocktail idea, every late night and early morning. Feeling that love returned by this community means more to us than we can put into words.

We will be closed from today through the 1st, and will resume normal hours on January 2nd. We can’t wait to see you all in 2026.

Thank you again for supporting craft and for being part of what makes this community so special. It truly inspires us.
