Mercer County Fairgrounds-Celina, Ohio Gratitude Post! (Sorry if this is long!)

I want to congratulate👏🏻 and thank the entire Fair Board, Cara, and her entire team for putting on an absolute amazing fair🫶...(and it's not over yet, so get out to enjoy it through Wednesday!) They even defeated the wrath of mother nature! ⛈

I had the opportunity to volunteer and drive the courtesy cart 🚕 for a few shifts over the past few days. It was so much fun getting to see the entire fairgrounds, assisting people who needed a break from walking, helping kids who were exhausted and just wanted a lift to their camper, or some little guy who wanted to find the Two Dads chicken stand🤣. I met people from Sandusky (not Upper), Defiance, Columbus, Michigan, and many other places. I met people who have never been to the fair and some who felt like they have been coming for the entire 174 years! But the thing that stood out the most from every single rider (from the small little ones, to the senior citizens) was the kindness, appreciation, many thank you's, and SO MANY COMPLIMENTS on our community and this amazing fair that we are so lucky to have!

I was tired when I got home (I don't know how the Fair team does it) but it was so worth it! VOLUNTEER...it will do your heart good and restore all your faith in humanity! ❤

(and to my riders...I was the one who promised you wouldn't fall off, I wouldn't run in to anyone, and I AM a bit chatty! 😉)

🚨 OFF-SITE PARKING TONIGHT! 🚨

With the mud in our General Admission parking lot, we’re offering TWO off-site parking locations tonight to help make getting to the Mercer County Fair easier!

📍 Celina Insurance Group Parking Lot
304 W Livingston Street, Celina, OH
Shuttle runs 5PM-11:30 PM
Look for the white bus
Drops off at Gate A

📍 Celina Elementary School
1225 W. Logan Street, Celina, OH
Shuttle runs 3PM-11:30 PM
Look for the Celina City Schools Bus
Drops off at Gate A

A HUGE thank you to Celina City Schools for allowing us to use their parking lot and providing buses and transportation staff to help our fairgoers tonight!

♿ Need wheelchair-accessible parking? Both shuttle buses are standard buses and are not wheelchair accessible. Please arrive early and park at the Mercer County Council on Aging West Parking Lot (in the fairgrounds) for accessible parking.

Thanks for your patience and understanding as we work around the muddy conditions. We’ll see you at the fair!

A special recognition was given today to Steve and Vicki Sodders of The Almond House for an incredible milestone—31 years as part of the Celina Lake Festival!

For more than three decades, they’ve been serving up their famous roasted almonds, cashews, pecans, and other delicious nuts that have become a festival tradition for so many.

Thank you, Steve and Vicki, for 31 wonderful years. Here’s to many more! 🌰
