Based on my passion for good wine, good food and good friends, I recently began to run my own business as an IWine Consultant with WineShop At Home. The concept is easy and fun: someone hosts a Wine Tasting event, which I facilitate, in their home for friends and family. Everyone has a chance to taste and learn about some incredible wines, as well the best foods to match to a specific wine. These
tastings are relaxed, informative, delicious and social. It’s simple: we decide on a date and order a wine sampler. We have several to choose from, and the selection changes every month for variety! The sampler runs $29.95 (+ shipping) for 6 premium bottles of wine. I will let you know what kind of foods to pair with the wines. We serve 3-4 cheeses, grapes, crackers, and a little chocolate. Different foods bring out flavor profiles in the wine, changing and enhancing the taste. The sampler provides for a maximum of 14 guests. The tasting usually runs about 1 1/2 - 2 hours, and at the end, people can and will hopefully order wines if they wish. Obviously, my goal is to sell wine and the wine that you love at the tasting. Although this is a business, it is a low-pressure, enjoyable “try before you buy” experience.
