It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the Castlewood Eagles Aerie 3305 announces the passing of a truly dedicated, proud, and lifelong member. Our dear Brother, Darnis Salyer, affectionately known to so many as "Cherry Man," passed away today, June 2nd, 2026.
Darnis was the absolute embodiment of what it means to be an Eagle. For over 30 years, he poured his heart into our Aerie, serving with honor as a Past Worthy President and holding numerous other Aerie officer positions over the decades. A familiar and beloved face to many, Darnis was famously the life of the party, bringing joy, laughter, and brotherhood wherever he went.
Please keep the entire Salyer family in your thoughts and prayers during the difficult days ahead.
Fly high, our Eagle brother. You left an undeniable mark on our hearts and our community, and you will be profoundly missed.
Rest in Peace, Darnis, thanks for the memories and the cherries...
