Tonight we are hosting an album release party for Thomas X’s new album Always be Brave! DJ Shine will start spinning some tunes at 6pm and will resume after the show, so come out for a great night of music at LogJammerz Bar & Grill!

Thomas X, out with a new album Always Be Brave, stopped by KBXE with vocalist Animikii Fallsfeather. The album release party is in Cass Lake on Sept. 11, 2026.

"The story of the crow and how crow had to be brave to go get the fire. And he made that sacrifice," said Thomas Barrett Jr., aka "Thomas X," of the Red Lake Nation.

He said this origin story of the crow was the inspiration behind his latest album, Always Be Brave, during a recent interview at the KBXE studio in Bemidji.

"And I thought it just lined up with the kind of music I was making and where I was at in life."

We’re bringing back the cool alternative/grunge vibe, complete with 90s-themed activities (hacky sack, music trivia, a giant Twister mat, foosball, etc.) and drinks (we’re even making Zima punch!), plus a lookalike contest and best dressed contest! There’ll also be 90s throwback prices on select drinks and menu items! Come early (starting at 3pm) and check out the booths (jewelry and mystical items, tarot card readings, and tattoos)! (Still trying to find a henna tattoo artist, so if you know anyone, send them our direction!) And the music will cinch the deal, with two amazing bands from the cities!
