With the regular season wrapped up, the end of year tournament got underway matching up 8 teams with the 1-seed Darad Inc facing 8-seed BP Coins, 2-seed Team Stoutin battling 7-seed Bolin Enterprises, 3-seed Markwell Funeral Home taking on 6-seed Hometown Butcher Shop, and 4-seed Snedeker Insurance going against 5-seed Sparks Autocare. In what can only be described as unbelievable, the bottom 4 seeds all pulled upsets to make the semis. Here were the results:

8-seed BP Coins 4
--On paper, this was Georgetown versus Villanova (the younger generation can ask the older generation about this analogy). But these matches aren't played on paper and BP showed what is possible. After only scoring 14 points the entire regular season, they found some magic mojo and proceeded to put a spanking on the regular season champions in round 1. Led by Cody "to be or not to" Hollensbe (net 30) and Trey "T-bone" Huisinga (net 31) they got 2 early points against Ethan "Ex" Hale and Andy "King" Edwards. The Darad tandem played well enough on any given night to win but not when the BP crew caught fire at the same time. Mike Chism finished off a great season for Darad in getting their only win but BP moves on and tries to make history as the only bottom seed to win the Men's League tournament.
2-seed Team Stoutin 2
7-seed Bolin Enterprises 3
--If Darad's loss was surprising, this one wasn't far behind as Team Stoutin has been the most consistent team over the last 2 years. But anything can happen on any given Wednesday and Bolin has steadily improved all year. Led by Mike "Bo" Bohannon (net 31) and John Whitacre (net 30), Team Stoutin didn't have an answer. Bill "live and die by the" Tipsword has been a force all year but finally had a night he looked human and he happened to hit the wrong night for that. Zac "attack" Richardson finished out a sparkling season with another win for Stoutin, as did Zach Tipsword making the matches come out 2-2. But Bolin pieced together a better 4-man net score to get the 3rd point and advance to the semifinals.

6-seed Hometown Butcher Shop 3
--Hometown's roster is full of talented players and it's been sort of a mystery as to why they struggled a lot this year during the regular season. Struggle they didn't tonight as the tournament kicked off and they made a strong showing against a Markwell squad that had won last year's tournament. Ron Snyder has been on fire with his golf game almost all season as he again carded a gross 35 (he's a zero so a net 35 also) in taking down Billy "Belt" Sanders. Sanders has been consistent most of the year but had one of his toughest outings at the wrong time. Greg Yates also got a win for Hometown with a net 33 in sliding past Jeremy "Jimi" Hendrix. Colin "Curly" Neal and Josh Stivers kept Markwell in this match as they both won, but the low net team point went to Hometown by just 2 strokes in a very tight victory.
Snedeker Insurance 2.5
Sparks Autocare 2.5 (won on the head-to-head tiebreaker)
--This match couldn't have been any tighter with it coming down to how they fared against each other in the regular season. And even that was exceptionally tight with the first two head-to-head's going 1-1. The 3rd head-to-head was won by Sparks 2-0 to give them the tiebreaker and victory. "Hot" Rod Sparks has been rolling the rock of late and just came off a hole-in-one down at Quail Creek. He continued that hot play with a sparkling 39 (net 35) in taking down the Iceman himself, Glen Isley. His good buddy Todd Musgrave "digger" also had a strong showing with a net 33 and victory over Dick Hawkins. Snedeker wasn't going quietly as Rick Hacker came in and did his part with this week's low net 29, which helped Snedeker grab the low team net point. A tie between Chris Snedeker and Pat Niebrugge finished off the 2.5-2.5 tie.
