Just wanted to give a quick update: Hayley and Carolyn were a bit more banged up than we originally thought. Overnight observation turned into 4 days in the Hospital. They were released yesterday and with time they will be okay. Our dog was never found and I fear he did not make it out.
We are saddened that the Missouri River Bar & Grill is gone... We know a lot of people have stories and memories of the building. However, what many people don't realize is that there was a dwelling attached to the business. My family lost their home and all of their belongings and almost didn't make it out of that fire alive. Hayley had to drag her mom through thick black smoke to safety... there have been a lot of people coming to the property wandering around and taking pictures... and I understand the need to see the loss for yourself if you have memories attached to the building... but I please ask that people do not disturb the area and stay back. Please don't go poking around the rubble looking for anything or ask me to take copper and scrap metal. This was also our home and we still have a lot of searching, processing and healing to do.
