The perfect day for a Brown Dog Fish Fry. We’ve got cornmeal crusted catfish with fries and coleslaw all day. Plus the Buffalo Chicken Melt and Theta Burger, there’s something for everyone this weekend!

Meet Alvin, our Adoptable Shelter Pup of the Week!!! This 1 yr old lab mix has the cutest little white socks on his paws, the silliest facial expressions, and a tail that never stops wagging. Aaaaand he might not respond to “Alvin” but BOY does he perk right up when you say “good boy”! And every time we looked over at him, his tongue was hanging out to the side and he was grinning from ear to ear!!

Alvin had an absolute blast meeting everyone during his outing! He’s incredibly friendly, loves attention, and is the kind of dog that makes people smile instantly. He’s good with other dogs, curious about cats, and has such a calm, easygoing personality. He is a genuinely good boy who would do great around kids and families.

One of Alvin’s favorite things in the world? Watching cars go by. He was completely fascinated by the road all day long, and honestly, we learned quickly that the best way to get him to pose for pictures was to let him sit and watch traffic while we gathered around him. He would happily spend hours sitting by a window just taking in the world outside!

Alvin is playful, observant, sweet, and FULL of personality. If you’ve been looking for a friendly dog with a gentle temperament and a goofy little smile, Alvin may just be your perfect match! Come meet him this week at the shelter!!

Carroll County Animal Shelter Hours: 12:30-4:30 Mon-Wed & Fri, 12:30-6 Thurs, 9-4 Sat, closed Sun (closed the last Friday of every month for training & deep cleaning). Dog meet-n-greets are always strongly encouraged before introducing a new pup to the family.

If you have been to Brown Dog on a Friday night since we opened, you might have seen a familiar face. James has been a patron and a friend to Brown Dog for ten years. He is loved by all our staff and never meets a stranger when sitting at the bar. He knows how to make you feel like you are important and why you matter. He was there when I asked him to be in our bar hype video a year ago. He was the first person I asked to officiate my wedding. He was there for me at my baby shower. Now I want to be there for him when he needs help the most. James was diagnosed with Stage III nasopharyngeal cancer, a rare and aggressive cancer that originates in the nasopharynx. While this is a serious diagnosis, it is still considered curable with intensive, multi-phase treatment. This process is not cheap and James will be out of work during his treatment. I ask that you help this beautiful soul in his time of need and contribute anything you can and share this post so that we as a community can help take care of one of our own.
