Dear valued customers and friends,
It is with great sadness that I must inform you that Wine Steals will be closing by January 3rd, 2018.
We have been working with our landlord for over a year in an attempt to bring in a new owner/operator of our venue. We were pleased with the multiple offers and applicants and until very recently we believed that Wine Steals would be in good hands serving our community for years to come. We were just informed that the landlord decided not to work with a restaurant venue and will turn this location into an office space.
The owners of the building spent considerable time and money exploring the restaurant option and keeping Wine Steals moving into the future. I cannot speak for them but the continually rising costs of restaurant ownership make a restaurant tenant risky at best. It is a hard fact that the rise in minimum wage, workers compensation insurance and processing fees just to name a few, has made an already challenging business almost impossible.
We have always tried to bring value to the wine retail and bar business. In this current business climate it is simply not possible to continue with our specific business model.
I would like to thank all of our loyal and loved customers over the years. THANK YOU!
We will be doing our best to maintain the atmosphere up till the very end, but in an effort to defray closing costs we will be selling any and all furniture, glassware, equipment, and/or mementos from the bar. No reasonable offer refused.
In addition, if you have a gift card or know of anybody with one, please bring it in and use it. If you see this letter after we have closed please email us at [email protected].
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible before we close our doors, if you get a chance please stop in one last time, it has been an honor serving the Cardiff and surrounding community for the last 9 years and we will miss you.
