After attending the private Grand Opening earlier this week, I couldn’t wait to go back and experience the full dinner menu—and last night did not disappoint.
Last night we finally made it to Olinda Restaurant for dinner—and it absolutely lived up to the buzz. The decor is gorgeous, and you can tell they’re still fine-tuning a few details (especially around the bar) as they gear up for opening day to the public. We also did a few signature pours that rounded out the evening perfectly. 🍸✨
What we tried (and why it hit)-
Our table shared a couple starters first, and both were worth it:
Surf & Turf Roll (Sea Plate) — a really fun bite with layers of flavor: lobster salad + sliced strip steak, wrapped with nori, finished with hoisin. It was that perfect mix of rich + savory + slightly sweet, with the nori giving it a clean, coastal finish.
Vegetable Crispy Rice — the sweet potato crispy rice had that satisfying crunch, and the slightly spicy sauce gave it just enough heat to keep you coming back. The diced potatoes added a hearty bite, so it felt craveable, not “just a veggie starter.”
Main plates we ordered
I personally had the Herb Crusted Halibut (Herb and Panko Crust, Corn Purée, Sautéed Mushrooms, Spinach, Bacon) and it was a very generous portion. The halibut was white, flaky, and buttery, with a light panko crunch and herb seasoning that didn’t overpower the fish. The corn purée was silky-smooth and slightly sweet, and everything together felt really balanced—each bite worked.
I also tried what my friends ordered:
Pecorino Chicken (Thinly Pounded Chicken, Roasted Potatoes, Broccolini, Tarragon Sauce) — which I almost ordered myself and I’ll need to go back for. I’m a fan of tarragon with chicken because it brings that bright, slightly herbal lift that pairs perfectly with poultry—and this one delivered.
Steak Frites (Sliced 8oz Coulotte Steak, Hand Cut Fries, Béarnaise and Bordelaise Sauces) — on this one the béarnaise was the highlight: creamy, buttery, and tangy, with that classic herb finish that cuts through the richness and makes every bite of steak and fries feel extra indulgent.
And my vegan fiancé tried the Thai Steak Salad (Sautéed Steak, Chilled Noodles, Cucumbers, Carrots, Peppers, Cabbage, Sesame Vinaigrette) — without the steak, and it was still packed with flavor. Super refreshing, lots of crunch, and the sesame vinaigrette tied everything together with a nutty, savory balance.
