I’ve been so into cucumbers this summer that I was reminded by a customer that I haven’t had the black bean salsa and chips on the menu for a while.

This weekend we’re bringing back black bean salsa and chips. Hop’s black bean salsa is made with black beans, roasted corn, red onions, cilantro, diced tomatoes, and local jalapeños with salt, lime juice, and agave go.

This week at Hop’s….

🥒 We are still harvesting cucumber so it looks like Asian cucumbers will be on the menu for another week!

Open Monday from 5 to 9 pm.

Closed Tuesday (August 25th) for family.

Wednesday open for hibachi and other plates

Thursday meet up for the Red River Gorge Climbers’ Coalition (RRGCC) bat survey

Friday 🍻 Happy Hour 5 to 7 pm

Saturday RRG Fixed Gear Initiative meet up breakfast buffet amd after party.🍳 breakfast buffet from 9:30 am until sold out.

Reason 9 to come to Hop’s (and love it)

At Hop’s, we make our desserts in house using local ingredients. We always try to accommodate everyone which means we almost always have gluten-free and vegan desserts available. Sometimes we run out and it will take us a day or two to get the desserts made again.

Be sure to check out our traditional Kentucky desserts — bread pudding, and transparent pie. Our transparent pie is made with Hop’s duck eggs.

Reason number #8 to love Hop’s (beside the fact that we have good food)

We use local ingredients to make unique food options such as our local cucumber pico and microgreen sunflower salsa (very spicy).

Why be into visiting Hop’s #7 (beside the fact that we have really good food)

Hop’s is all about supporting the little and the bigger critters of the world. We regularly have deer and we’ve had bear visit Hop’s. We installed a beer, proof, trash receptacle to prevent the bears from coming back for our trash. This is very important to protect the 🐻 bear population of the Red River Gorge area.

Be aware that when you visit Hop’s and enjoy the creek that it is a natural environment so there are always a possibilities of snakes and other insects that may sting/bite you.

So if you’re a nature lover, Hop’s is the place to be. Enjoy the evening you will get an opportunity to listen to the frogs.

Why come to Hop’s #6 (beside us having awesome food)

When you get a cocktail or ask for a lemon 🍋 for water you’ll get dehydrated fruit. Why dehydrated fruit? Dehydrating our fruit allows us to pick the juiciest citrus fruit. The dehydration process concentrates the flavor which is release when rehydrated. The other benefit is we don’t waste fruit!

Restaurant are notorious for food waste. To combat this, we 1) compost food scraps, 2) recycle our glass, cans, paper, and plastic, and 3) create our menu to minimize waste. Additional, we don’t use saran wrap or plastic cups. Hop’s “plastic” cups are all plant based. If you have been to Hop’s you’ve seen the solar panels too.
