THE STORY BEHIND VERDE VAPES Verde Vapes started with the unwavering determination of a very strong-willed daughter not willing to give up on the fight to get her mother who was suffering from Graves' Orbitopathy or GO (an rare form of Graves' Disease) to stop smoking. In the USA only 16 cases of GO per every 100,000 per year are reported. And out of those 16 cases a year my mother's was said to be the one of the most extrem e. An emergency surgery was scheduled to have the sides of her skull removed to make room for the swelling and scar tissue that was rapidly building in her eye sockets and forcing her eyes to the brinks of explosion... literally. Before her surgery, the Surgeon asked to speak with me. He explained to me that he has never in his career seen a case of Grave's Disease this extreme and that there was a good chance she will not make it through the surgery. He continued to say "I cannot emphasis this to you enough. If your mother makes it, you ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT ever allow her to pick up another cigarette or she will die." He preceded to give me information to understand just why he was so adamant about her not smoking. A few days after the surgery, I caught my mother smoking. I used bribery. I used threats. I used begging. I used everything and anything I could in my power to get her to stop but said she just couldn't. A few weeks later, my sister-in-law introduced me to the world of vaping. She too was a smoker of many years but said she was able to quit cold turkey with the use of a vape. Since vaping was new and there were no shops anywhere in our local area, I am immediately took a trip to Phoenix where I purchased my Mother her first vape. She was very optimistic.
