Our last day will be Saturday 20th June. This week we will be open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday for takeout and limited reservations. One of the words we have always used to describe our little pub is ‘cozy’ and the intimate space we have created (and love) does not allow us to provide a safe environment for our patrons or staff that can adapt to our current, albeit temporary, reality. After much soul searching and consideration of the months ahead and with huge sadness we have decided that we will close permanently.

Almost 6 years ago, when we opened the Drouthy Bear we set out to create a space that was welcoming, warm and snug. A place that people felt a part of as soon as they walked through the door. A place for families, a place to meet friends and make friends. We have come to know and love so many amazing customers and had the pleasure of working with a truly incredible group of people to fulfill our dream.

We have loved meeting you and serving you. Pub quiz and folk music nights, blizzard evenings when people come in with rosy cheeks and huge grins, wedding celebrations and birthdays, raucous card games and magic shows. We are honored to have been a part of your life moments in this place. Our children have grown here, sharing it with their friends, listening to laughter when they fell asleep upstairs. We cannot express how much it has meant to us and how much we will miss our pub.

We are planning to remain open for the month of June with outside seating and takeout. We hope that this will be an opportunity for our patrons and friends to have a last few pints together. We are also committed to allowing our staff the time needed to plan for their next steps. We are so grateful for your support during the last couple of months with the purchase of gift cards and we hope you will take this time to use them up!

This has been such a hard reality for us to accept but more than anything the overwhelming feeling is gratitude for the support we have had from our community and the amazing experiences that the pub has given us. Thank you all for helping us to create the Drouthy Bear we will miss it.

We will re-evaluate after this weekend and build more items into the menu and more delivery days slowly with a goal to start outside seating and service as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your support and understanding through these crazy times. We miss you all!
