RUN FOR UNITY will be organized across India on 15th December, 2013, the 63rd Punyatithi of Sardar Patel.

It will be the curtain raiser to the Statue of Unity Movement. This unprecedented event will witness more than 10 lakh people running simultaneously across 565+ locations in India covering all the major cities/towns.

This historic run will unite the country in paying a fitting tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, who integrated 565 princely states with independent India.

Apart from a 2 km run, there is a 2 km Unity Walk so that families / senior citizens can also participate.

You can register for the run at our website: http://runforunity.com/

Come, let's spread the message of unity!

In today's war of words between Congress and BJP we need to understand the truth of how Sardar was treated by Nehru and his cronies. That there was no love lost between Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel was evident from historical records and personal anecdotes. Compared to Sardar's towering personality, Nehru was a pygmy.
Records show that the Sardar who was the then Deputy Prime Mnister and Home Minister was insulted, humiliated and disgraced by the then Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, during a Cabinet meeting. “You are a complete communalist and I’ll never be a party to your suggestions and proposals,” Nehru shouted at Patel during a crucial Cabinet meeting to discuss the liberation of Hyderabad by the Army from the tyranny of the Razakkars, the then Nizam’s private army.
“A shocked Sardar Patel collected his papers from the table and slowly walked out of the Cabinet room. That was the last time Patel attended a Cabinet meeting. He also stopped speaking to Nehru since then,” writes MKK Nair, a 1947 batch IAS officer, in his memoirs “With No Ill Feeling to Anybody”. Nair had close ties with both Sardar and VP Menon, his Man Friday.
When Sardar died in Bombay on 15th Dec 1950, Nehru showed his true colours. In his book ‘India from Curzon to Nehru and afterwards’ author Durgadas, speaks of how Nehru went to President Rajendra Prasad advised him against participating in Sardar’s funeral. President Prasad told Nehru to mind his own business and he did not need his advise.
Immediately after he got the news about Sardar Patel’s death, Nehru sent two notes to the Ministry of States. The notes reached VP Menon, the then Secretary to the Ministry. In one of the notes, Nehru had asked Menon to send the official Cadillac car used by Sardar Patel to his office. The second note was shocking. Nehru wanted government secretaries desirous of attending Sardar Patel’s last rites to do so at their own personal expenses.
But Menon convened a meeting of all secretaries and asked them to furnish the names of those who want to attend the last rites of the Sardar. He did not mention anything about the note sent by Nehru. Menon paid the entire cost of the air tickets for those secretaries who expressed their wish to attend Sardar’s last journey. This further infuriated Nehru.

I can write more, but the moot point is that Nehru was a disaster and he hated the fact that he was a nobody in front of Sardar. You can call it inferiority complex or by any other name.

Who Was Dhyanchand?

Once Upon A Time Indian Hockey
Team Was On Foreign Tour, They
Played 48 Matches And Won All Of
Them and Dhyanchand Scored 400
Goals Alone...3 Olympic Gold Medals.
India Was Unbeatable For 20 Years. We
Beat US in A Olympic Match By 24
Goals Which Is Stile A World Record
And Since Then US People Forget How
To Play Hockey....

Dhyanchand LED INDIA both in HOKEY FIELD and BATTLE FIELD.

Major Dhyan Chand- The Greatest Hockey Player (The Magician) .
PROFILE:
1. Three consecutive Olympic Gold medals
2. Over 400 international goals (1000 overall!)
MOMENTS:

Once Major Dhyan Chand was not able to score a goal against the opposition team. After several misses, he argued with the match referee regarding the measurement of the goal post, and amazingly, he was proven right!

In the 1936 Olympics, Dhyan Chand's magical stickwork drew large crowds. A German newspaper had headline:
'The Olympic complex now has a magic show too.'
The next day, there were posters all over Berlin:
"Visit the hockey stadium to watch the Indian magician Dhyan Chand in action."

IN THE OLYMPIC FINALE:
India won gold by defeating Mighty Germany with 7 goals lead!!
and He alone scored 6 Goals.

The HITLAR was so impressed by Dhyan Chand's wizardry with the stick that he offered the Indian a chance to move to Germany and the post of Colonel in his army

BUT

He refused the offer with a smile continued his service in the Indian Army.

During a match with Germany in the 1936 Olympics, Dhyan Chand lost a tooth in a collision with the aggressive goalkeeper. Returning to the field after medical attention, Dhyan Chand reportedly told the players to "TEACH A LESSON" to the Germans BY NOT SCORING. The Indians repeatedly took the ball to the German circle only to backpedal.

Sir Don Bradman and Dhyan Chand once came face to face at Adelaide in 1935. After watching Dhyan Chand in action, Don Bradman remarked
"He scores goals like runs in cricket"

Residents of Vienna, Austria, have set up a statue of him with four hands and four sticks, depicting his control and mastery over the ball.

Last and Best.
In his last days, he was short of money. But he never coached any foreign team for the fear of his team defeating the Indian team.

Though he was respected all over the world, he never got love and respect from his own country. (He wasn't a cricketer/film star, you know!) Once when he was old, he went to a tournament in Ahmedabad and they turned him away NOT KNOWING WHO HE WAS.
Even today, sadly, the scene is no different.

Bharat ratna Sachin Tendulkar!
Wow! we all love sachin... no doubt he is a Gem.
But do we know there is someone who deserves this (at least) as much as Tendulkar does.

SHARE IF you feel he Deserves Bharat ratna

SHARE IF you feel like. Namaste.
